Birds

Their feathers are envied by all,
Their songs adored by many,
And their free spirit owned by none.

They spread their wings and fly,
With not a care in the world,
Knowing that their family is safe.

But I just sit here in my chair and watch
As I am tortured by life
And it's unfair ways.
And I look up
And see these magnificent creatures
Who can go anywhere;
Fly about...

And wish that I
Too
Could fly away
And
Escape.
