Chapter 13: Its Not My Birthday!

Start from the beginning

To Mex from her favourite hero America! Just wanted you to know that you will have to ride your horse down the streets at the parade on September 10th to join your fellow people and celebrate. I hope your horses can dance! Remember to take the flag since you'll be leading the parade. See you soon dudette!

She let out a small sigh. He always got her into these types of things. She might as well go with the flow.

"About time I visited mi yegua." She said before heading off to her hometown where she had a place to train horses as well as give them shelter.

After greeting the people in charge of the whole place, she made her way to the stables where her horses resided. She finally entered the barn that said (Y/n)'s Barn. She walked through the open door and passed by horse stable after horse stable. 'Dulce' 'Flor' 'Rosa' 'Candelaria', the names went on and on until finally, she stopped to a stall that had (y/h/n) embedded into the metal plaque. She peered inside to see a beautiful Azteca horse munching away at her bale of hay. Mexico made a click noise with her mouth and signaled the mare. It turned over to look at her and it seemed to have brighten up at the sight of her friend/owner.

((y/h/n) means your horse's name)

"¡Cómo estás mi preciosa!" The girl exclaimed at the sight of her long time companion. The mare let out a neigh in response, the sound alerting the other horses of her presence.

"All right all right! That's enough!" She said, laughing as the chorus of neighs went to a halt. She opened the stall door and walked inside. She crouched down to see (y/h/n)'s shy little foal hiding behind her mother. She let out a small chuckle at the adorableness.

"You don't mind me borrowing your mom for a while?" She asked the foal. It whinnied in response.

"That was a rhetorical question." She stood back up and went to her horse and gave it an affectionate stroke on her muscular neck.

"About time we show them we're the best dancers..."

September 10...

"¿¡Están listos?!" She yelled out to the groups behind her.

"¡Si señora!" She gave a curt nod before mounting (y/h/n). One of the other riders handed her the beautiful flag of their country. Her mare had barely been groomed which was very much worth it. Her (f/c) coat shined even brighter than usual, her almost silky hair decorated with beautiful (f/f).

(f/f) is favourite flowers

"¿Estas lista (y/h/n)?" The horse gave a soft neigh and the country grinned widely. The music began and that was their cue to leave. The yegua bucked in excitement and trotted along, preparing for the dancing up ahead.

During the parade, she had met up with Alfred whom was in the crowd, cheering her on, but not before going onto one of the floats and waving around the wrong flag. He accidentally waved around his flag instead of Mexico's flag.

"¡Oye güey! You're waving the wrong flag!" Mexico yelled at him. He gave her a puzzled look.

"No I'm not! This is my flag so I'm waving it around!" He said before continuing his task. She just face palmed and continued the parade.

"Thank you Alfie for this." She said sincerely. The parade had finished a few hours back and they decided to take a quick stop at one of the taco stands.

"No problem dudette!" There was a moment of silence, which was being filled by the small munching of taco eating.

"Now I want to see how you'll celebrate my!" America said suddenly. The food accidentally went down the wrong tube the moment she heard this. She coughed and coughed until finally, she was able to speak clearly.

"¡Lo sabía!" She exclaimed, soon leaving him behind to pay for the tacos as she saddled her horse and mounted her, soon riding off into the sunset.

"I better start planning the next cinco de mayo for her! That will be one of her best birthday parties ever!" He exclaimed after finishing the last taco, completely forgetting that her birthday was on the 16th of September which was six days from Sunday.

Author's Note: Thank you for reading my ducklings! I know I haven't updated in like two weeks but it's just that I got a bit behind with my class work after I went on a road trip to Arizona. New chapter will be out either tomorrow or the day after. Anyways, translation time!
