"Okay, that's the last box," Dean sighed, placing it on Sam's side of the room. His roommate hadn't gotten there yet, a boy named Benny. Sam plopped down on his desk chair, running his hands through his already-messy hair.
"Alright then," Sam looked at Dean. "Do you need help bringing your stuff up to your dorm?" Sam was studying to be an artist. He constantly had paint, or ink, or charcoal on his hands, today being the only exception. He looked at the other side of the empty dorm.
Dean was studying to be a mechanic. His dorm was on the other side of the building, on the top floor. Sam looked exhausted, so Dean declined.
"Nah Sammy, don't worry about it. I got it, y'know. See these puppies?" He flexed his arms, grinning cheekily at Sam. Sam just rolled his eyes, laughing. Dean smiled goofily before walking out of the dorm room, closing the door behind him. Sam immediately walked over to his bed, collapsing on it. He fell asleep right away.
~~~
Dean got started on hauling his crap up to his room alone. The elevator in the building was currently under maintenance, just his luck. He silently wished that he had asked Sam for help after all. When he opened the door to his new dorm with the first box in hand, panting slightly, he noticed a guy sitting down on the bed furthest from the door, reading what seemed to be a textbook.
"Uh, hey," Dean looked at the boy on the bed. "Are you Castiel Novak or do I have the wrong room?"
The kid looked up from the textbook he was reading. "Oh hello, yes I'm Castiel Novak. That means you're Dean Winchester, correct?" Dean was startled by how formal the guy spoke.
"Er, yeah I am," he cleared his throat and placed the box on the floor by his bed, standing awkwardly at the door. After they stared at each other for a good 10 seconds Dean coughed uncomfortably. "Well if you'll excuse me I have more boxes to get, so um, yeah," And with that Dean turned tail and walked out of the room quickly. He turned a corner and leaned against the wall. His roommate seemed quiet, but something about him made Dean feel strange. Maybe it's those damn eyes, Dean thought. The kid had the bluest eyes Dean had ever seen: Sapphires framed with long eyelashes, set against golden skin and clashing with raven sex-hair. Dean caught himself.
No, we like girls, Dean, remember? Dean sighed before going down another six flights of stairs to get his next box.
~~~
Castiel stared after the strange boy that had damn-near run out of the room. He'd had beautiful green eyes, like emeralds, and they had some sort of strange look in them when they had made eye contact. His more-brown-than-blond hair looked kind of messy, but in a good way. He'd had faint freckles and pretty lips. Castiel had stared at him because he was beautiful. Not in a feminine way, but in a 'You're so gorgeous, why are you looking at me?' way. He shook his head hard. Castiel came from a very religious family. All of his siblings, including himself, were named after angels, for God's sake. If they even thought he was gay they'd probably lock him away in some sort of mental hospital.
He shivered at the thought before turning back to his book. He was studying biology, and moved to this town with his brother Gabriel. Gabriel was an aspiring musician, so that's what he studied. He was the only decent sibling. He didn't really care what Castiel did, as long as it didn't bother him. Castiel was pretty sure Gabe was gay, but he didn't want to make any assumptions. Gabriel was his favorite sibling, and the only one who liked him, so he didn't want to offend him or anything. Cas decided to just stop thinking about his life for a little and continue studying.
~~~
Gabriel closed the dorm room door right on his roommate's face. He'd gotten stuck with some guy named Crowley. Now Crowley wasn't a bad guy, he was just really snarky and sarcastic and rude. Gabe didn't feel like continuing the argument they were having any longer.
He walked down the long hallway and down a few flights of stairs, running straight into a guy with brown hair, light freckles, and grass-green eyes. He's hot. He was lifting a box and looked completely exhausted. Gabe bumped into him, not paying attention.
"Oh! Sorry man," The guy stood up straight and looked looked down at Gabe. He turned out to be tall, around 6'1. Gabe himself was only 5'8, but his younger brother was 6 feet tall. Damn genetic unfairness.
"No sweat kiddo," Gabriel patted his arm. Hot guy half-smiled. "You need some help there?"
"Yeah, sure" The guy stuck out his hand. "Dean Winchester."
"Gabriel, but you can call me Gabe," He took Dean's hand and shook it, then lifted up a box.
~~~
Castiel looked up when he saw his brother coming in after Dean. Dean himself had been bringing his stuff up for the past couple of minutes, but Gabe seemed to be helping him now.
"Cassie!" Gabe placed the box he was holding on the floor and walked up to his brother. He smacked the back of his head lightly. Castiel rolled his eyes and ignored him.
"You guys know each other?" Dean asked, confused. Gabe looked up at him.
"Cassandra here is my brother, right?" He looked over at Castiel, who nodded but didn't say anything. He went back to his book. Dean looked between them and laughed.
"I have a brother too," He smiled. "He's studying art here, actually."
"What's his name?" Gabe looked up at Dean, who grinned before replying.
"Sam."
"I would like to meet this Samantha," Gabe sat on the bed. "Is he tall too? Am I gonna be the only short one here?"
"He's 6'4."
"Dammit."
