Scotts favorite time of the year was late spring/early summer. Not only was the weather just right and he could wear a tank top or a light jacket, that was when strawberries were in season.

The weekends were strictly family time, as ordered by Mitch, and what Mitch says, goes. So every Saturday, Scott packed up his family and they went strawberry picking.

Little Sage always wore some sort of outfit that had strawberries on it, because Scott decided it was only appropriate, holding her little basket that never quiet got filled since she ate the strawberries she picked instead of putting them in. Carter however, always made it a competition between him and his dad as to who could pick the most strawberries. While Mitch stayed back with Sage to help her pick, he always had a watchful eye on his boys, knowing he can never let them be out of his sight for too long before they get into trouble. In the end, Carter always won because Scott could never stand to see his losing face. After that it usually ends with Carter once again showing Sage how to properly pick strawberries while Scott and Mitch walk hand in hand right behind them.

The best part though, wasn't picking the strawberries or the strawberry ice cream they usually shared after, it was Sunday.

Sunday mornings meant Mitch woke up early to make pancakes with fresh strawberries on top. Then they all piled into to daddy and papa's bed, still in their pjs, to catch up on some of their favorite cartoons.
