“What the hell are we supposed to do now?!”

“This is pointless; we’re never going to get anywhere.”

“Shut up!”

“No you shut up!”

“Yelling is not going to make things better!”

“Neither is staying here trying to find a place that doesn’t exist!”

I looked at Breena across the room. She truly seemed to have figured something out that Greg probably didn’t see. As she was writing she kept making faces, sometimes a smile when things seemed to be going right or a grimace when something was wrong. I looked at Maverick, whom was sleeping on my stomach. He looked the same as I’d last seen him. No supernatural growth spurt or anything. I kind of wanted him to grow up really fast that way I didn’t have to take care of him as much. Was that wrong? No, I don’t think so.

“Maybe we should just attack the Deep now; it sure as hell would save us a lot of trouble.”

“We are trying to avoid as many deaths as we possibly can!”

“Sometimes people need to die so that others can live.”

Breena lifted up the notepad to look at her work, but then shook her head and got back to work. Why does Maverick sleep so much? Was something wrong with him?

“So what’s your plan, huh?!”

“Auron thinks we know the location of the Lost Kingdom, so what if we just set some sort of trap?”

“You don’t think he’ll be expecting that?!”

“I FOUND IT!” Breena suddenly exclaimed hurrying over to where to boys were, leaving me alone on the other side of the room. “Gregory translated the symbols perfectly, but when all the letters are put together it does not form an English word, but a Latin one. Ancient merlanguage is lost to our people but Latin is still taught through generations.” She then circled something on the paper that I of course couldn’t see. “Daemonium figura. I thought it meant demon figure, but then when you but these letters together” she circled more letter. “It forms triangulum quadrum, which means the triangle with four sides. So of course the words from before are not demon figure but the Devil’s Triangle. And these numbers here, together they actually form coordinates; 25.0000° N, 71.0000° W. Being a mermaid, I know each surface of the ocean by heart and I know now for a fact that the location of the Lost Kingdom is in the Devil’s Triangle, also known as the Bermuda Triangle.”

My jaw dropped and everyone stared at Breena, amazed by what she’d just done. A moment of silence passed, all of them stayed quiet to take in what they’d just heard. The Bermuda Triangle? I remember learning about it briefly in history (or was it geography?), but I don’t recall what made it so special. So what were we going to do now?

“So what are we going to do now?” I decided to ask out loud because my head couldn’t provide the answer on its own.

Everyone suddenly remembered that I was there and they all moved closer towards me.

“We still must go to the banquet tomorrow.” Danicio said looking at me.

“But won’t Auron be angry when he realizes that Tarabelle is not there?” Breena asked.
