MacKenzie's POV

9 months later...

"Turn that music off." I groan, sitting up in the hospital bed I was somehow in.

"She's up." Caitlin says and Cisco calls for Dr. Wells. Caitlin comes over to me and goes all doctor mode, checking my temperature, blood pressure, and all that stuff. Cisco throws me a STAR labs hoodie that I throw over my black spaghetti strap tank top. I look over to my left and see another unconscious figure there. Against Caitlin's wishes I get up an walk over to the man.

"Mack, you really need to sit down so I can test you more." Caitlin says, trying to get me over to the bed again but I was curious about this man lying on the bed in the same state I was in a second ago.

"One sec, Cait." I say. Then, he pops up, scaring me so much that I scream and fall to the ground.

"Dr. Wells, we really need you here now." Cisco pleads. Caitlin tests the man while Cisco runs over to help me off of the ground.

"Barry, Mack, you guys were in a coma." Cisco says to the both of us.

"What?" I ask.

"For how long?" Barry asks.

"9 months." Dr. Wells says, rolling into the cortex. "Welcome back Mr. Allen and Ms. Raymond." Barry and Dr. Wells talk for a little bit and then Barry follows him out of the cortex. I lean against my hospital bed and fiddle with my necklace, only to find that there were 2 around my neck. Realization hit me.

"My brother." I say, standing up and looking at Caitlin and Cisco at the desk. They both look at each other nervously and tears form in Caitlin's eyes. "Where's my brother?" I ask, nervous about their nervousness. They don't answer me so I run out into the hall. "Ronnie? Ronnie!" I yell as I run through the hallway.

"Mack!" Cisco shouts. I turn around to see him running to catch up with me. "Mack." Cisco whispers. I hear Caitlin's heels click, so she's not far behind. "Ronnie's...gone." Cisco says.

"What do you mean, gone?" I ask, scared.

"He...died. Trying to stop the explosion from the particle accelerator." Cisco says.

"No." I whisper. Tears roll down my face and Caitlin wraps me in a hug. "No." I sob. God wouldn't do this to me. Not again. Not after he took my parents in that car crash. He wouldn't do it again.

"I'm sorry." Cisco says, placing a hand on my shoulder once Caitlin lets go.

"Come with me." Caitlin says after a while. I leave with my head down and hold her hand as she led me out of STAR labs and into her car.

The ride was silent. We got to Caitlin's apartment and I quietly walked up with her.

"You can stay with me." Caitlin says. "I don't have an extra bed, but I have a nice couch." She tells me. I silently sit down on the couch, still in shock. "I got something for you. Ronnie left it here." She says, handing me a brown college hoodie.

"Thanks." I whisper.

"I'll let you get some rest. It's late." Caitlin tells me. "Goodnight." She says before walking into her room. I throw the large hoodie over my head, say my prayers, and drift off to sleep. Little did I know how affected I was from the particle accelerator.
