the solution okok we know alden shut up, but honestly make your character strong, make them brave, fierce, loyal— whatever suits your fancy, or make them none of those things. make them conniving. make them hate-able. make them unworthy of anything. make the reader torn on whether they should like the character or not. everyone has flaws and those should especially shine through when you have an oc. they don't always have to be the good guy of the story, but they do have to be the good guy of their story.
