Panic in Space (Still editing)

Chapter 1 - How it all went Wrong

         Time's have been rough since we were forced to evacuate earth due to a threat from a alternate universe. (A Story for another time.) We have been struggling to find the resources we need to survive in the rough hard terrain of Mars.
         Unfortunately, the food we have brought to space for earth only lasted about 6 Months. After that we were left to find food through the very few resources that are available at Mars.
        Through all of this we managed to build a Lab in which
Dr. Gray (A highly experienced scientist) has been doing Lab experiments to try and help out with the desperate need for a food source.
         Dr. Gray has been making a lot of progress on what he describes as a "Duplicating Chamber" He says once we find even a trace of food we can duplicate it in great quantities.
        One day we were wondering through a Newly discovered area and we saw a Small Body of water! We ran up to take a closer look. We were however startled when we saw something moving in it. I quickly pulled out my Freeze ray (Dr. Gray had created high tech weapons in case we ran  into any eminate threat). I pointed it at the moving thing and pulled the trigger.....
        The thing in the water stopped moving and became still.
I put my hand in the water and took it out. It was a shark! "How could a shark possibly survive here?" I asked the others. They all shrugged or shook their heads. I brought it back to Dr. Gray as fast as a could run.
       "It's a Sphinx shark" He said Knowingly "They only live in places with Really scarce Resources." He put it on the counter and injected it with something. It became the size of a fully grown Whale. "We need to tie it down" He said "We wouldn't want anything to go wrong."
      Little did he know that everything would go wrong that day. He tied it up and put it in the duplicate chamber. He flipped the switch. There was a sequence of loud banging noises followed by a bunch of flashing lights. L
       After about 5 minutes he flipped the switch of again. He opened the door and started reaching to take something out of it. But astonishingly Like 15 sharks flew out of it at lightning speeds.
      "No!" Cried Dr. Gray "This can't have happened!"
