It's been awhile since I really written anything. This story is really random, one day I had a dream along the lines of what this story is and I just have to write it. So far all of the characters are based on actual people so there will be no cast list but feel free to make up your own. Thank you for reading!!

Characters

Me/I/You - This story in 1st person and I kinda like the feeling of the reader being in the story. At some point she may receive a name for story sake, it may even be my name, but for now it is you. A sophomore at Westlake High School.

Chris - A close friend of yours (mine, idk maybe she needs a name) he is a junior at Westlake, works at Mcdonald's, and is into science, airplanes, tractors, and the main character (her?)

Taylor - Also a sophomore, very tall and enjoys teasing and star wars. Another friend along for the ride/escape.

Ray - The "fun" one of the group, always willing to try things and take risks. He is talented in sarcasm and always has something to say, whether a comment or story.

Today started the same as any other. I reluctantly climbed out of bed when woken up for scripture and prayers with the family. Then slowly prepared for school by getting dressed and doing my hair and makeup. Although I was moving at a notably slow pace those things didn't take long, they never do unless I am particularly trying to look good some reason, which is a very rare event. After checking to make sure I had everything in my bag I made my way over to the Ley's house. Ever since we moved by them recently Chris has been driving me to school instead of Joseph. When I arrive at their house Mrs. Ley always has something for me to eat. At first I tried to tell her I didn't need it but soon just gave in as the food is always delicious and she thought I didn't eat enough because for the first while I knew them I never ate much around their family. That morning she had muffins for Chris and I on the counter that we could grab as we let. During the short ride to Westlake we talked about random things, classes and things going coming up at school, nothing of real importance. Upon getting to school we parted ways and headed to our first classes, mine being English.

It all started during second period, I was in Seminary. The intercom came on, but all we heard was yelling, some screams, and static then it went silent. That was when we knew something was very wrong and I knew that I somehow had to get away from the school. Seconds later my phone started buzzing, Chris was calling me.

"Where are you?" he asked urgently, clearly he felt the horror of the situation as well.

"The Seminary building."

"Okay stay where you are, I'll come get you. Just stay inside, I'm going to make sure we get out of this." As he said this I felt a feeling of calm wash over me. My fear wasn't completely gone but i knew he would do all he could to make sure we were okay.

"Hey don't worry let anyone hurt you." With that he disconnected the phone and I was plunged back into the chaos around me. Everyone in the room around me was panicking, trying to find out what was going on, what to do and how to get away. One girl calmly sat on the floor in the back with her knees to her chest singing primary songs quietly to herself. I went and sat beside her petite form.

Sitting here singing together is calming. I don't know how long it is going to take Chris to come, it has only been about a minute since I talked to him though it seems much longer. NOw looking out the window near us there he is running towards the building but there is another person running towards us as well. Seeing the man in black I knew immediately that he was one of the people we needed to get away from and he and Chris were about to cross paths.

Panic seeps in again. We are supposed to be getting out of here. What if hurts Chris, or worse? Since this began I have been trying so hard to be strong. Now... now i don't feel like I can. First one silent tear slides down my face, then many more. I am unable to stop them and to be honest at this point I don't even care to. Everything around me blurs into a hurricane of panic, worry, and pain and I have no idea what to do. I feel so helpless, it's as if my body has gone limp, like all my limbs have shut down and the only thing I am capable of doing is sitting here sobbing. Through this whirlwind of tears and emotions I see two more people running towards the building in the direction Chris and the man went. There is no way for me to tell who they are and whether they are friend or foe but in my heart there is a glimmer of hope that they are coming to help Chris.

Suddenly there is a soft knock on the window. Looking up I am beyond relieved to see Chris outside motioning for me to open it. Although he was obviously in a fight it looks like he is okay, just some small cuts and bruises nothing too serious but it does look painful.

"We have to hurry. Ray and Taylor can handle that guy for now but I don't know how long that will last." So that's who those other two people were, thank goodness. I nod my head but still sit there the numbness in my limbs remaining. Aware of me still sitting there motionless Chris climbs in the window gently taking my hands helping me to stand and supporting me as I make my way through the window and as we begin our walk to his car.

In the last second I stop Chris :We need to ask that girl who was singing to come with us." I whisper through the tears that are coming down continuously, less rapidly than before yet not stopped.

"Come with us, please, we are going to go somewhere safe." The delicate looking girl promptly climbs out the window as well and follows us.

"Taylor! Ray! Let's go!" Chris shouts to the two boys who had also assisted in our rescue. The five of us hastily headed towards the white Ford Explorer that was luckily parked in the lot behind the seminary building. Climbing into the vehicule Chris hands Taylor the keys and tells him to drive, Ray is upfront beside him and although there are two seats in the middle sits on the bench seat in the back with me his arms still around me protectively. The warmth of his arms is comforting, just having him here beside me constitutes a feeling of safety for me.

We are not the only vehicule attempting to leave, it seems that many students had a similar idea to ours, get out as quickly as possible. Consequently most of the exits are blocked. There seems be a large number of these men in black, who are they and why are they here? Fortunately near where we were parked there is a field without fences that we can drive through as to not be stopped like the other cars leaving. As we leave I notice in another field not too far away the men are lining up students, with the girls and boys separated, these men are holding guns and are not being gentle to the students in any way.

I scan the rows looking for Joseph, my sort of brother Josh, and Robert, the girls lines are too far back for me to recognise anyone. On one side I find Robert, arguing with one of the men. Once again fear fills my body, Chris notices me stiffen as I see this and tries to shield my view of the outside but I already know that thi is one argument that Robert is certain to lose. The realisation that I don't know when or if I will see any of them again induces another fit of my hysteric crying. Chris tenderly pulls me into him and holds me tighter in a struggle to comfort me.
