Chapter One

Bramble Camp above

"Run Gold! Run!" yowled Bronze as the cats busted out of the building.
"Keep up Bronze! We have to keep running!" Gold looked over his shoulder to see his sister panting as she ran for her life.
"Don't let them escape, idiots!" one of the scientists yelled from inside the building. Gunshots were heard and Gold looked forward again, quickly swerving around another cat. He was not going to die. A squeak was heard and Gold slid to a stop, turning back around.
"Bronze get up! Come on!" The She-Cat had tripped and fallen, and just at the wrong moment, one of the scientists fired a gun.
"No!"
Gold bolted up right.
"Bronze!" He murmured. The Turkish Angora sitting next to him, cleaning herself, looked over.
"The same nightmare again, Gold?" She glanced over worriedly.
"Sadly, Snow. Yes. The same one." Gold got up and stretched, yawning widely, at least Snow was alive.
"Who has hunting duty today?" Another voice meowed quietly.
"I think Silver and I do. But you might have to check with Bramble on that one, Brook." Snow looked over at the Egyptian Mau, who nodded as she yawned.
"Oh, good morning as well." She curtly said to the two. Gold chuckled and shook his head as Snow glared at her.
"I just won't be nice next time then." She then got up and left for the kill pile, tail swaying annoyedly.
"Rude." Brook mumbled as she hauled herself up and trotted off, tail high up in the air. Gold sighed.
"She-Cats..." He shook his head again and clambered onto a boulder where his brother Silver was sleeping. Gold silently chuckled and nudged him off the boulder. Silver yowled as he tumbled off.
"Hey! What the hell, Gold!" Silver licked his pelt frantically, trying to get the dirt off.
"Jeez you think you'd be more worried about if your tail is broken then how your pelt looks." Gold rolled his eyes. Silver gasped and looked at his tail worriedly, causing Gold to fall over laughing, now sprawled out on the rock.
"Got you there!" Gold meowed between laughs.
"You...you!" Silver huffed, defeated, and plopped his tail down beside him.
"I'm going to see if Bramble needs me to go hunting or patrolling today." Silver's tail flicked and a rock flew up out of the ground at Gold.
"Hey! No elements in camp, bro!"
The rock hit Gold directly in the head, causing him to wince. Silver let out a 'hmph' and trotted off cockily. Gold sat up, sighing, and thought back to Bronze, his sister who had died to one of the scientists at the old testing lab two years ago, in the midst of The Great Escape. The trio used to be stuck like glue before they were tested on, and even then they would talk for hours to each other through the bars of the cages. Their parents had named them by when they were born. Gold was the eldest by 10 minutes. Silver came next and is 3 minutes older than Bronze. Gold sighed as he reminisced, not noticing Snow calling his name. All of a sudden a snowball hit his side and he was knocked off the boulder.
"Hey! Snow! No elements in camp! Only used in combat!" Gold checked himself to make sure nothing was broken before cleaning his pelt.
"Well, you were off in la la land again!" Snow walked over and sat by him.
"Were you thinking about, her?" Snow looked over sympathetically.
"I miss her so much, Snow. Two years and I still can't believe she's gone..." He sighed and looked down. Snow licked the male's ear affectionately. The two had been mates for a year now.
"I know, I understand how you feel...my parents were killed off before testing even began...they were too old, but you know that.... we have each other, and the whole group though, that's our new family." Snow looked over at Gold's expression as he smiled sadly.
"You're right, Snow." Gold nuzzled her cheek before standing up.
"Now, what did you need?"
"Oh, Bramble needs you." Gold nodded.
"Then let's go see what he needs." Snow nodded and they both made their way over to the now angered tabby.
