It hurt

It hurt to see my family suffer

It hurt to see my friends run away

It hurt to see my life go straight to hell

All of it hurts and it all hurts because of me.

My life wasn't really a life. I would wake up like every teenager does and I would get ready to go to school but then again every teenager doesn't have to wake up and see that you have yet again been left to care for you two brothers.

Well lets start from the beginning

My name is riley Conners. I have two brothers. My dad died when I was 12 in Iraq. My mom, well I shouldn't say mom considering she isn't really a mom to me. Stacy yeah let's call her by her first name. She never was really a mom when I was growing up. My dad was the one that raised me well that's until he went into the army but anyway she was ether at work all day and all night or she is cheating on my dad with some low life from off the street looking for a good fuck. Now you be thinking why wouldn't I tell my dad. Well she is head at a huge company and she threatened my chance when I was older to get in a good college. After dad died she was more distant then ever. She would stay at work and never come home. I would wait and stay up for her till I got tired and fell asleep. Of course all this didn't happen until my brothers were born. Payton and Timmy my brothers were the best things I could ask for. When dad died Payton was 8 and Timmy was 1. When we found out Pay and Timmy didnt go to Stacy but they ran to me. They really didnt know Stacy all that well.

After a while Stacy would not come home and I would wake up to 10,000 dollars on the table with a note with it say that it was for food and paying the bills. By the time all that started happening I was 15 years old. I finally came to the conclusion that "mom" had finally left us to god knows where and every two weeks or so would drop off money so that we could stay alive. Even though knowing this I would still stay up and wait for her till 3:00 in the morning just hoping to god that she would come through the door that stood in front of me. I think the thing that kept me going was that I had a picture in front of me with my whole family when we were smiling.

You see I loved cars when I was younger. You'd think that a 5 year old girl would be in love with princesses and fairies but frankly I hated them. My dad would tell me all about these cars and I got to fascinated. When Stacy finally left us I had to look for a job. My dad would always take me to his old car shop and I would stay there all weekend while dad was busy. So when I was looking for a job mr. Thomas took me in and let me work there.

After the years went by and Pay and Timmy finally got a clue that it was just us. It was hard to manage between school, working, soccer practice and watching the boys. Payton took it a pawn him self to watch Timmy. When mr. Thomas died he handed the shop to me. It was slow but I still got money. I wasn't making enough so I had to find something else. Drag racing. With my history with cars I easily fit in. People easily liked me and when I told them my story they didn't pity me. I became top dog after my first race and started my famous collection of cars. The news got out that there was a new racer and that they were good. People came across the state at first but then some came from the neighboring states.

From there on I found my new life. Of course when I was alone people would easily try to jump me. I took up boxing just to be able to fight them off. Now I guess my life is ok. Now that was all during the summers of 10th and 11th grade. Now it's a week before the first day of senior year and I am on my daily plan.

1. Wake up

2. wake the boys up

3. eat breakfast

4. feed the dogs

5. go on a run

6. go to the gym ( to box )

7. then go to work

8. Race

I mean it's a busy day but it got me and the boys throughout the years. My bestfriend Scott would come over and help me a lot. I still got the money from Stacy but I put that in the bank for school. The boys would have friends that would come over which I didn't mind but I would have to go to the store afterwards.

My other best friend Sam made me a bet that I still hold. I guess you can call me a bad ass. Gets in trouble with the police and doesn't give a shit. My normal clothing is a pair of jeans and a regular shit with a leather jacket to top it off. She made me change into a girly girl. She made this bet sophomore year. If I lost the bet I would have to give her the next car I win in a race.

I have hated my self from the day on. I thought she would forget about it. Well I was wrong.

Now that you know my story I guess we should get started now.

Get ready for the ride of your life.
