Nineteen

Start from the beginning

“Damn. Galit na naman si Kuya Arron.” Kim clicked his tongue. Hindi ko siya pinagtuunan ng pansin at nagsalin na lang ng panibagong round para sa akin.

“Yeah. The last time Arron had this black aura, he was sexually frustrated.” Trent chuckled. Itinigil ko ang pagsalin sa alak at binigyan ng matalim na tingin ang mga kaibigan ko.

“Fuck. Off.” they all sighed when I drank the entire liquid inside the shot glass.

“Hindi ba kasama mo si Carmela kanina? You should be in a good mood.” sabi ni Harold and I just grunted. Hated that he reminded me of how, for the first time, I regret being with Carmela. And I never regret it. Not ever.

“Allie called me earlier.” biglang sabi ni Vin na kanina pa tahimik at nakatingin lang sa akin.

My inside started doing silly things that I didn’t like. Damn. Damn. Damn. Ano bang nakain ko at kanina pa ako nakakaramdam ng kung ano-anong kabadingan?

Gusto kong malaman kung bakit tumawag sa kanya si Allie. I was very eager–very desperate to know the reason why. I was exploding with curiousity but that’s what Vin wanted to happen. He’s trying to get a reaction out of me–he wants to know if Allie’s the reason why I’m acting like a frustrated woman.

“So?” patay malisyang sagot ko dito and Vin shrugged.

“You don’t want to know why she called?”

“Why would I?”

“Beats me.” he silently smiled to himself and I badly want to wipe it off his face. He looked so smug that I never wanted to punch him as hard as I’m thinking right now.

Damn.

Napaisip tuloy ako kung dapat ba tinanong ko na lang kung anong sinabi ni Allie dahil ngayon, nilalamon na ako ng curiousity ko. Hindi nakatulong yung pagkabugnot ko sa sarili ko.

Damn talaga.

I can feel my jaw clenching and unclenching as my fists formed into a tight ball. Pagkatapos parang nang-iinis at nang-iinggit pa ang pagmumukha ni Vin. At ako naman ‘tong bading, nagpapa-inggit naman sa kanya.

“Easy there, Valencia. She just asked for your whereabouts. Calm down.” Vin chuckled.

“I am calm.” I gritted it through my teeth.
