Extended summary May hates cliches. Her whole life seems like one huge metaphor that belongs in a novel (literally there's like a love triangle and everything). As she learns how to survive her metaphor life she finds maybe that cliches are a good thing and that continuously dying your hair blue might damage it. Also, boys can be a huge waist of time (or maybe that's a cliche too).
