Chapter 5: Girl Problems, Boy Problems, Wait, Ice Cream!

Start from the beginning

"STOP KNOCKING FOR GOODNESS SAKE!" John heard Eliza scream, her voice surprisingly high.

"I NEED TO SEE ANGELICA!"

"ANGELICA DOESN'T NEED TO SEE YOU!" Angelica shot back.

"WELL I NEED HER, I MEAN, I NEED TO SEE HER!"

"Dang, he's smooth," John heard Eliza whisper to Angie.

"SHUT UP, ELIZA,"

"Let the poor guy in already!" Peggy must've taken charge.

"KEEP TALKING PEGGY,"

Peggy opened the door.

"Oh, hi!" John greeted. "Angie, please just talk to me."

"What's going on between you two?" Eliza asked suspiciously.

"Basically, Angelica insulted my turtle so I kinda went all defensive, so I insulted Angie," John rambled, fabricating lied.

"For a turtle? You're a piece of work, John." Peggy shook her head.

"Uh so I need to talk to her right now,"

"Let's go to the ice cream shop," Angelica brushed past him.

"This late at night?" Eliza frowned.

"But it's downtown!" Peggy said with wide eyes the same time as Eliza.

"How about you meet me in the courtyard, ten minutes?"

"JOHN! I WANT ICE CREAM! TAKE ME TO THE ICE CREAM PLACE, OKAY!" Angelica blew up, looking murderous.

"Sweet Jesus, fine," John looked confused, but complied. "Get in the car."

"You have a car?" Peggy exclaimed.

"Duh, I just use it for special occasions,"

"Aww, and this is one," Eliza winked at both of them. "Jogelica... nah. Angehn. Uh no. What about one with your last name? Ang - Laurgelica? Yes!"

John blushed bright red. Angelica shot a warning glance at Eliza.

They both went down together silently.

Eliza grinned.

They were going to get together, or she was going to make them.

oOo

Eliza's POV

"Eliza, are you sure we should do this?" Alex nervously followed John and Angelica from a safe distance.

"Duh! They're so cute together!" Eliza smiled. Angie had been single for too long.

"If they find out, John will never forgive me!"

"He will," Eliza said confidently.

"D'ya maybe think you could be harming more than helping?" Alex asked nervously.

"Nooooo, they need us!"

"Maybe... Well, they're in the shop," Alex reported.

"Put your disguise on!" Eliza pulled her hair into a bun, then donned a beanie and fake glasses. Alex gingerly put on a fake mustache and a hat.

"I do so much for you," Alex muttered.

"Think of it as a date," Eliza giggled.

They strolled into the ice cream shop.

Angelica's POV

"What flavor do you want?" John asked half-heartedly.

"Vanilla," Angie said.

"What? Chocolate's obviously the best!"

"No way, classic is the best!"

"Please, at least chocolate has a flavor!"

"Vanilla has a flavor for more, aquired, tastes,"

"Are you saying I'm not fancy enough for you?"

"I guess I am," Angie looked away. "This was a bad idea, got to go."

Eliza's POV

The two were arguing about flavors. Ice cream flavors.

"I guess that's sweet," Eliza muttered, then realized her horrible pun.

She doubled over laughing. Angie and John looked back, but thankfully Alex had his hat tipped low.

"Wait, she's leaving!" Eliza exclaimed quietly.

Angelica's POV

"I'm leaving!" Angelica turned and left.

"No wait! Don't go!" Who knew having a girlfriend could be so hard? Not that they were together or anything, John stop thinking ahead.

John caught Angelica's hand and looked at her pleadingly.

"Angie..." He said.

"Fine." Angelica grabbed their cones and sat down.

"Listen, I shouldn't have yelled at you," John put his hands on the table.

Eliza's POV

"They're sitting. Get us ice cream and I'll listen!" Eliza instructed, sitting at a table conveniently behind Angelica and John.

How she felt? About the turtle?

Alex?

Eliza leaned closer.

Why would a turtle be so important?

Eliza felt all the blood rush from her face.

I like Alex.

You like Alex.

We all love Alex.

Maybe the turtle was Alex? Eliza whipped out her phone and sent a text to Angie.

The turtle's Angel - Big Sis

They were talking about Alex. Her boyfriend.

Eliza was wrong. She had come to help John and Angelica get together, but instead, she found out that they were all chasing the same person.

Alex handed her ice cream. "What's up?"

"Nothing." Eliza said. "Nothing at all"

The two walked back to the college, neither one of them looking back at Angelica or John.

Angelica's POV

"Who's texting you?" John looked up from his cone.

"Just Eliza," Angie shut off her phone.

"So, we should get back to the college soon," John said.

"I haven't finished my ice cream." Angelica whined.

"No one cares about the vanilla, Angie," John said in a duh tone.

"Wow, thanks for supporting me like a boyf- I mean-"

"Oh my god, Angie, I don't mean to offend you or anything, I just, wait what were you about to say?" John smirked at Angelica.

"Nothing!" Angelica said quickly

"Of course... friend," John grinned, grabbing her hand.

"Indeed, fren," Angie smiled back.

They made their way back to the college walking closely together.
