Aaliyah slowly trails behind them with her eyes still glued to the gamepad. Lauren picks her and Amaiyah up while Elijah reaches for me.
"Y'all some spoiled little rats" I chuckle
"Come on let's go before one of our moms call us" Lauren laughs
I lock up the house and buckle the kids in before getting in the passenger seat. We arrive at my parents house in thirty minutes and all you hear is music and smell the grill. I take Amaiyah out her booster while Lauren gets Eli. I was just bout to put her down when she holds on tight to my arms.
"No mommy, up" She says
"Maiyah why you don't wanna walk?" I whine
"Mommy" She whines while swinging her legs
I sigh and bring her back to my body, walking into the backyard.
"Grandpa!" The twins yell while running to him
"Now you wanna walk" I mumble
"There go my little munchkins!" He says while hugging them
Lauren snatches the game from Aaliyah and she looks up, ready to throw a tantrum until she looks around.
"Oh, we're here. Hi papa!" She says while going over to him
She lifts her arms and he picks her up then spins he around.
"Oh, EStamoS AQuÍ" Lauren mocks
I laugh and graze my nails over the back of her neck.
"UNCLE BRYSON IS HERE!"
He comes over to us with the rest of our friends and I ease my way out the formed circle, I'm too hungry for this.
I go fix the kids plates and give it to my dad then go back to get my own plate, which I stacked up.
After a while of drinking, eating, and dancing to the music playing it starts to turn dark. My mom walks over with the twins and they're crying. Knowing that their tired by now, I grab them and walk into the house, up to my old room. I lie on the bed with them and run my fingers through their hair, soon I start to hear light snores and a hand on my cheek and one in my shirt, I shake my head and slightly chuckle. You are noooot getting breastfed Eli. I hear the door open and Ally walks in with her son.
"Heeyyyy Manibear" She smiles
"Hi lil A town" I softly chuckle
"Who would've thought at only 26 we would be engaged with kids?"
"I know, it's so fucking amazing" I whisper
"Tell me about it" She says
After a while of talking we realize they're all sound asleep and we carefully get up and start walking back to the backyard.
"I don't know what I would do without you Allyson" I smile
"Same here, it's been damn near 20 years" She says while hugging my waist
I wrap my arm around her and we talk some more. As the night goes on we all enjoy ourselves some more, Lauren soon pulls me away from everybody and we go to the front and sit on the steps.
"Damn I love being around you" She smiles
"I love you" I chuckle
We talk about the stuff that happened over the last couple years and it feels as if nothing else matters at the moment but us. She grabs my hand and kisses my cheek as 'Trust' by Keyshia Cole comes on.
Let me be the one who can take you from all the things you seen. And if you trust in me I can be that through anything you need and give it all to me baby, don't you run from me baby.
"We've had a crazy couple years, I saved your life, you tracked me down, I couldn't stand you then you finally got through to me and I fell in love with you. I got you pregnant, I almost died and you saved my life, and now we're engaged. I love you beyond how much you think I do, you have my heart like no other. You Blessed me with a lot of things and I Thank God for you daily, I love you and the kids so much" She says
"I love you so much Lauren"
She blushes and I smile while pinching her cheeks.
I know you've seen a lot of things in your life, got you feeling like this can't be right. I won't hurt you, I'm down for you baby.
"There was times I thought it wasn't gonna work, whether it's cause of my past or just off the fact that at first your friends didn't like me. I Prayed and Prayed for you and that whatever we had would last. Even though I already had a child you didn't use that as a reason to not date me and you accepted her before you even met her. You were patient with me while you were tryna break through my walls and you've been by my side through every little thing. It's just so many reasons why I love you as much as I do."
I trust you, I love you, I want you, I need you. Baby I breathe you, never leavin' you, life wouldn't be the same without you.
I look at her with adoration and can't help but to smile as she gives me the same look.
"It was all worth it too" I say
She leans in and kisses me slow and passionate, I hold her face and she deepens it. I don't see myself with nobody else but Lauren.
