"He's never been in love?"

She nodded with a sad smile. "He's never had time with his career and everything. He started training pretty young and has only ever been focused on that."

You couldn't help but frown and nod.

"Just give him some time, he'll warm up to you eventually. You're a great girl."

You heard the door open and close and could heard the chatter between Jaebum and who you assumed was his father by the manly voice.

"It's good to see you son."

His mother guided you out to meet him and you politely bowed and greeted the kind man.

"You must be Y/N, it's really nice to meet you," he shook your hand and smiled.

His family was small but very kind and welcoming and you didn't feel awkward or uncomfortable in any way being here. You somewhat felt at home.

You helped her bring the food on the table as Jaebum and his father sat and chatted. Everything looked so delicious and you couldn't wait to eat.

You tried to ignore how your heart raced a bit when Jaebum grabbed one of the plates and his hand lightly touched yours.

You sat on the seat next to his and smiled happily at all the delicious food.

"Thank you for inviting me once again. This is my first homemade Korean meal so I will gladly enjoy it," you said with a bright smile and got two smiles in return from his parents.

"We're very happy to have you here," his mother said and you all dug in.

Just as you expected, the food was incredibly delicious and you happily complimented his mothers cooking which she thanked you with a smile.

"Have you always wanted to be a model? she asked a bit later.

"Um. . .I think it was mostly something that happened. It wasn't really something I planned I guess. . .I've always been a very insecure girl who was never seen as beautiful by anyone so when I was scouted I guess that made me feel confident that someone saw me as a pretty girl so I went for it, and it's now become my career and lifestyle," you usually didn't talk about your life to many people but you felt comfortable here.

Jaebum had been looking at you now for the first time since you all sat down to eat but you couldn't really read his expression or know what he was thinking.

"I'm sorry that you've felt insecure because you're a very beautiful girl," she said.

"It's hard not to have any insecurities especially with society's expectations but I try to be confident as much as I can," you said with a smile.

"Screw society's expectations."

You were taken back from the sudden comment from Jaebum who hadn't spoken till now and stared at him before chuckling and agreeing.

"Cheers to that," his father said with his drink in the air and you all joined.

His father had headed to bed right after dinner and his mother was in the kitchen washing the dishes. She refused to let you help and you couldn't fight her so you surrendered and you sat eating cake with Jaebum at the table.
