Days went by.We always stayed on track towards Haven.The journey was long.For someone who doesn't really need sleep or need to eat I got extremely bored at night.So,I just tinkered with a side project.
Jaune always went off in the night to do things.I never pressed him about it.I could tell it was important.
the next day had come and we were off on the journey again.As usual I stayed to the back and thought about things.A day never went by when I didn't think of my ghost.
My Ghost.
At the time,I seemed to take him for granted but now,I knew what I lost.A friend. Not just any friend,a friend who would always stick by me.
As I was thinking about this I heard Jaune say something.
Jaune: Oh no......
I looked up to notice the walls of the town.They were destroyed.....Smoke poured into the skies.
We all ran to the town.What could have done this?
We entered through the gate entrance.I slowed down as I saw the destruction around me.
The buildings were all destroyed.Houses were smoking.I saw no one.I could only assume what this meant.
I saw everyone else had gathered around something.They all seemed in shock.I walked up to them to see what it was.
A man was lying dead in front of them.He looked as if he just died.
I looked down in disgust.What could have done this?That's when I heard the screech.
It was faint.The screech was quiet.I was the only one who heard it.
I walked towards a building that I thought I heard it from. That's when I saw it.
A vex Goblin was stuck under rubble.Its red eye was starting to go out.It turned as I walked into the destroyed house.
Goblin:TOOL.ASSIST VEX UNIT(s)
I looked down at the vex in disgust.How could a vex speak English?
Y/N:i'm not your tool.Pathetic Vex.
The Goblin seemed confused.
Goblin:ERROR.TOOL DETECTED.ASSIST VEX UNIT(s).
Y/N:Why did you do this?What did you want to achieve?
Goblin:ERROR.THIS VEX UNIT(s) IS A SURVEILLANCE UNIT(s).
I was confused.
Y/N:So what did this?
Goblin:A LARGE AMOUNT OF DARKNESS WAS DETECTED-
The Goblin stopped talking.
Goblin:ERROR.A TOOL DOES NOT ASK ANSWERS.
I pulled out my sword and stabbed its chest.The Vex milk spilled out onto the floor.
Y/N: I did you a favor.
Goblin:ERROR..........
The red eye died out.
I walked out of the building to see everyone waiting for me at the exit.
Ruby:What happened to you back there?
I looked back at the building and sighed.
Y/N:I just saw something.I don't want to talk about it.
We walked through the gates and continued our journey.
Cinder pov......
Everyone had gone off on there assignments.Cinder assignment was to stay with Salem as they waited for the next move.Since Zuluc had left she was in charge of watching the machines.
The three machines stayed in the exact same motion as before.Like they were meditating.
Cinder stood at the doors to the room.Mercury and Emerald stood beside her.
Cinder stared at the machines.
Mercury: Uhh......what exactly are we doing?
Emerald:Were watching these things like we were told.
they stood silent for a few seconds.
Mercury:This is boring.
Emerald:Just shut up and do the job!
Merucry: Fine.I just wanted to talk.....
As those two bickered,Cinder continued to watch the machines.What was there plan?She remebered what Zuluc told them of these machines before he left.
Zuluc: Those machines are a greater threat then anything else.They have millions of plans all being test on the situation given.Like now.How will you react to them?They all ready know every way and have decided the best course of action.they know how to survive.
If he was right,could we really trust these things?
Emerald: you are so......Infuriating!
Mercury:I'm infuriating?!Have you looked in the mirror in a while?
Cinder was tired of them.As she turned around to tell them to stop,One of the machines started to move.
The giant machine in the center of the room stood.
It turned around to stare at them.
It walked towards them,its red eye looking around the room.
Cinder,Emerald,and Mercury all got into a fighting position. They were ready for what it was about to do.
As they got into a fighting position the machine stopped moving.It looked at them and did nothing.
this must have been what Zuluc warned about.
It started to walk again.This time it did not look around the room.It focused on them.
It walked up to Cinder and looked down at her.
Vex Minotaur:YOU.HUMAN.WHERE IS IT?
They were all confused.
Vex Minotaur: WHERE IS THE DARKNESS?
Salem opened the doors to the room and saw this scene.Apparently the machine noticed her entrance.
The machine dissapeared right in front of them and appeared in front of Salem.
Vex Minotaur:WE MUST NOW SPEAK.
The room was silent.
Salem:Lets chat.
