Chapter 2 || Granny's

Writer's POV

Emma pulled up beside a small and comforting cafe.
Granny's. She thought to her self. Almost sounds like home.
She had only been her more a few minutes and she was already warming up. Normally, Emma would have shut out anything and everything but now. Strangely, she hadn't. She tried to brush the felling off but she just couldn't.

She opened the car door and stepped out onto the pavement.

"Wow." Emma sighed. The only foster homes she had ever been in were in large cities. She never got to experience a small countryside town. She always dream and read in books about towns like this. Where everyone knows everyone and there are festivals every season. Kind of like Gilmore Girls.

Flashback~6 years ago

Emma sat on her bed. She held tightly on to her baby blanket. She had nothing else of her past. Not much of a future either. Everyone in the house hated Emma. She didn't know why and what she had done. At first she thought it would just blow over. It didn't. It got worse and worse. Almost up until the point where Emma was about the run away.

The only thing that stopped her was Lily. Her only friend she had growing up. She was like a sister. Emma and Lily were inseparable and spend every possible hour together.

"Emma," Lily started to speak. "Do you think that we will stay friends?"

"I ah......" Emma started to think. She knew how unreliable the system was and how the always seemed to spilt people up. " I don't know Lily."

The continued to play but as time progressed. Lily asked the same question over and more often until one day, the tragedy happened.

Present Day

Shaking the memory away, Emma focus on her order. Umm Onion rings and ah GRILLED CHEESE yes that is what I will have.

By the time Emma had chosen what to eat, Ruby the waitress came past, making her rounds.

"So what will it be?" She asked.

" I'll have your grilled cheese and onion rings please."

"Alright coming right.......wait..... Your new here aren't you?"

"Yes I am. How could you tell?"

"I know everyone her and I have memorized everyone's order but yours is new."

"Oh."

"So what's your name? I've heard that my grade is getting a new kid. Are you it?"

It? What do you mean by it? Am I not good enough. Does she hate me already.... Emma stop. Stop assuming. Ask questions. "Uh yeah I'm going to be attending StoryBrooke High."

"Wow that is SO cool. I'm so happy that I got to meet you before we met I school. Maybe we can hang out sometime!"

"Uh sure. I just have to get settled into my home first."

"Ok well I guess I will see you at school then! Bye!!!"

Emma was stunned. She was not used to so many people being so incredibly friendly. Especially to strangers. This was going to be different.
