Chapter 1

Matea's POV

"If you want we could go and pick flowers for your mother's grave" I said to my best friend who lost her parents a year ago.

"Okay...but its almost night we have to be quick" Alex respond.

As the two girls picked flowers a loud crash could be heard in the distance....it came from outside the wall. Two girls looked in fear as the Titans head peaked and looked at the village. The girls started running twords their house... shock written all over their faces. As they turned around the corner where their house was, all they could see was a big rock that had smashed the house into thousand pieces. Their parents nowhere to be seen.

Matea's POV

"No..."

...No was all that could come out of me, tears streaming down my face, memories spinning around my head...my parents.

"ALEX!!" I tured to see her standing there... Terror in her eyes. "...Alex" I wispered.

" We have to go...NOW!" She yelled grabbing my hand and started running.

" But Alex...my parents I need to find them!" I screamed yanking my hand free. " I can't go without them." My voice cracked. I turned around and started walking.

" ... Matea please there is very little chance that their alive, we need to get to the boats before they get over run." I heard Alex said.

I looked back to see her crying and holding hand twords me beginning me to take it and just leave with her.

" I'm sorry...go save yourself" I managed to choke out.

"I'm not leaving you!" Alex said walking twords here. " We're going to find your parents....now let's go before Titans get close." I nodded.

We started looking for my parents, we searched everywhere, we screamed from the top of our lungs...but no one answered.

" We should go" Alex said. "It's useless... we're only going to get us killed."

A tear began to form in my eye as I stare in terror at the dead body that was in front of me. The more i looked at it the more it reminded me of my mother she had the same dress.....no.

" Matea? "

" NOOOOOO!!!!!" I fell on my knees tears falling down my cheek.

" Oh no..." Alex came behind Matea..arm covering her mouth so the sobes couldn't hear.

Pure silence... It was so silent that it could make a person go mad.

" I'M GOING TO KILL EVERY TITAN, EVERY SINGLE ONE WITH MY BARE HANDS... I'M GOING TO MAKE THEM SUFFER!!!" I started screaming like a maniac.

Alex pushed me making me hit the ground hard enough to make a few cuts on my cheek. I looked twords Alex and saw her in Titans hand...Titan smiling as he brings her closer to his mouth. She began to kick his hand with all her power but it was useless.

" ALEX!!! NOOOO!!!!" I screamed, but my screaming won't help... I feel useless I can't do nothing to save her... Im weak.

As I look up I saw Alex screaming for me to start running. In a blink of an eye a miracle happend. The Titan loose grip and Alex started falling from his hand on to the floor, just before she hit the floor someone came flying twords her and saving her from the terrible fall. The Titans head went backwards and he fell.
The man landed in front of me putting Alex down.

"...Alex" I whisperd hugging her tightly.

" What are you doing here, you should be evacuating. Do you know how many good soliders die because of you,  can't you just appreciate it and do what you're told!" A man said in cold voice.

" Thank you for saving us sir. " Alex spoke up.

" Just get to the fucking boat. " A man replied.

Alex nodded turning twords me and grabbing my hand pulling me away from the dead body of my mother. This is the last time I'm going to see her.

Alex and I got to the boat, but it was impossible to get into it there's way to many people.

" Don't let go of my hand. " Alex whisperd.

She began to push through the people. I was still in so much shock that I couldn't function. Alex is the only person left that cares about me. Hell, if she was smart enough she would let me go the second I told her that I need to find my parents. She almost got killed because of me... And she still cares about me.

We finally get on to the boat. We sat next to each other and just stare into defeated Saganshiga that was once our home.
I looked at Alex who was looking down at her hand holding her sisters necklace, she always had it with her.

" Are you okay?" I asked Alex.

" No." Is all that could be heard.
