Chapter 1

Dan's Pov

"Come on Dan! I want you to meet all my friends!" Phil said, pulling me by the sleeve of my sweater.

"Why did we have to wake up so early though?" I yawned, trying not to sound annoyed.

"So we can meet for coffee!"

Phil always talked to me about his friends, most of their names i've already forgotten. I didn't want to hurt him, so I just went along with meeting them. I never thought I would have to wake up so early though. Eventually we got to the coffee house, and sat down with a bunch of people.

"So Phil, is this your boyfriend you've been talking about?" A guy with brown, curly hair said, leaning against his hand.

I couldn't help but turn red a little. I mean, we weren't dating, is that what Phil said?

"He is not my boyfriend, Pj!" Phil said, crossing his arms and looking away to break the gaze. I didn't want to admit it, but that stung a little. I would never say it out loud, but the first time I met Phil getting settled as flatmates I couldn't help but stare at him a little. Luckily I don't think he ever noticed. Soon, Phil started introducing me to all of his mates.

"So this is Ken, Felix, Pj, Chris, Tyler, Ethan, Mark, and Jack." Phil said, pointing to all of them as he said aloud their names.

I awkwardly wave. Chris, the name sounded familiar somehow. We all enjoyed coffee, well I had hot chocolate. Phil and I started walking to our high school, casually saying something every now and then.

"What did you think of my friends?" Phil asked, smiling and nudging my shoulder.

"They were... cool, I guess. I really liked um, Chris and Pj..." I mumbled, which was probably a bad thing since Phil is practically deaf.

"They've been my friends for what seems like a million years." Phil smiled to himself.

We got to school and made it to class a little before the late bell. Another long, boring day. Especially with all of those annoying twats.

Phil's Pov

During class I couldn't help but stare at Dan a little... okay a lot. There was just something about HIM I guess. A couple of times I saw Dan look at me too, but that was probably nothing special. I guess the first time I met him when he moved into my flat my heartbeat sped up quite a bit.

After class Dan met up with me again. "Tomorrow we have a pop quiz on what we talked about today" Dan mumbled, looking at a piece of paper i'm guessing were notes.

"I didn't pay attention to anything the teacher said..." I said to Dan, maybe he could help me out.

"Probably cause you were staring at me the entire time." Dan smiled at me, my eyes widened.

So he did notice all of that. He probably thinks i'm a creep now. After all of those boring classes, I met back up with Dan to go to lunch on the roof. "Are we gonna meet up with your friends again?" Dan asked, but I just ignored him.

Let's see... I saw who I believe to be Shane, Destery, Garrett, and Drew. They were all in this weird club or something where they talk about paranormal stuff and weird stuff. I think it's called WTF News? Eventually I found them, and Felix waved to me. I grabbed Dan again and ran over to them. "Hey guys!" I waved, and stomped on Dan's foot.

"OW wow, yeah hey guys..." Dan waved, but immediately looked away. We all enjoyed lunch, Mark's friends Bob and Wade were also there. I told Dan Emma could come over, but he said it was fine. Eventually we all started leaving to get to our lockers for next classes.

Jack's Pov

Before Felix could get away, I grabbed him by the wrist. "Hey Felix, can I talk to you for a sec?" I asked, and Felix nodded.

"Course bro, what do you need?"

"Well two things, how come Marzia wasn't at lunch with us today? I thought she always sat with you... and also well, how do you tell someone you like them?" I asked, bring my gaze to the floor.

Felix took a breath and leaned against the wall behind him. "Marzia and I broke up last night..." Felix sighed.

"Wait, but why?"

"She was just... jealous about how much time I spend with Pj..."

"That's ridiculous, you guys have been best friends since middle school!"

"Anyways, what was the second question about?" Felix asked, back to his cheerful self.

"Well I kind of maybe have a little crush on you know Mark..." My voice grew quieter with every word.

Felix clapped. "I knew it! I always shipped you guys you know!"

Then Felix slapped me on the back. "Just ask him on a date, he'll say yes!"

"How do you know?" I rubbed the back of my neck.

"I have my sources Jack, oh I have my sources. After all i'm head of student council!"

I sucked up all of my courage. I can do this. Felix and I walked to our classes, parting ways.
