Chapter 1:

She was busily working in her office, checking the report in one of her major companies in India when suddenly a screechy loud bang of the door interrupted her world. The impact of the harsh opening of the glass vibrated like gongs in the Chinese temple as it was pounded by thousand slaves. It screams with fury inside her head.

" Lexie! Lexie?! "

I tiredly look at that one particular intruder squealing on front of me who is no one but my so good best friend Laurice. Who almost tripped with all the excitement as she hurriedly went to my desk.

Idiot!

" Don't you know how to knock? Or you just tripped your head off in your way here?"  I crudely ask at the slightly stunned Laurice.

She rolled her eyes at me while flipping her red locks, scorning at my harsh remarks. " Duh, I did ! You're just so engrossed eating all those papers. You did not hear me! "She retorted pouting and glares at me after her butt slacked on my desk.

I questioningly look at her then insensitively just shrugged at her gaze,"Let's just pretend that you really did. So what harsh wind had brought you here? " Knowing Laurice she would rather jump off the Grand Canyon than waste her time sitting here on my office.

"Eh! Lexie this day is so great!"  Again she shouted almost breaking my eardrums.

 Is her throat still intact after that?

"OK... stop are you possessed or what? " I said irritated. I remove my glasses and look at her incredulously. She murmured something on her breath, things only she can hear what. Things I had no idea.

She grins, " you're are so mean Lexie."  She childishly said while wiggling her feet on the air. How did she become my best friend anyway? I just can't believe she's a year older than me.

I can't believe it!

"Yes. I am so they say...So?  Because I don't have all the time in the world, " I said while looking at my watch to give her my point, but she just chuckled with my impatience.

She shook her head in amusement, "Alexis Rain Graystone. President of  Graystone Group of Companies. Still so murky and still as grumpy as ever! "she waves her hand while wearing those playful smile on her face as she looks at me behind her lashes.

So?

I indifferently shrug while trying my best to stop feeling suspicious with her appearance and tone, "Yes I am, back to the question... So?"

 " I'm here for your makeover day!"  She said in singsong, leaping from my desk as she jumps up and down upon reaching the floor while grabbing my suits sleeve.

Just great. Now I don't want to hear it. I know it has something to do with that promise. I know!

"What do you mean by makeover?"  I asked unresponsively, pretending I don't understand what she's talking about. Pretending I don't care.

But this is shit!

She grins happily, "Makeover for your first Real High School ever!"  She breathlessly said. And looking like she's unable to hold the excitement. She was looking unable to hold back her stupidity.

Oh what a great lameness! Now end of my peaceful life. Damn it!

I really hate myself for making that promise, "School? What is that for?" I grimly asked still pretending I don't know what she meant. I need to hold onto something and ignorance is the one I need to clings into now.

It's the only escape I had. This is all bullshit!

" It is because you promise your mother that you'll change your intolerable idiosyncrasy "  She happily said.  Her sea green eyes were cunningly looking at me.
