Rainbow Pride

Chapter 1.

~Alex P.O.V.~

  It was a stormy and cloudy day and me and Julius were walking to our school, we were in 8th grade and we had one more year in the hell hole we call school then we get a fresh start at a new school. "Hey Alex?" Julius asked me I looked at him "What." I said he jumped onto my back screaming "YOU'RE MEH BESTEST FRIEND!!!!!" he said hugging me, I hugged back and after we were done hugging I messed up his hair he looked at me and gasped "YOU TOUCH DA POOFY FABULOUSNESS ON MEH HEAD!" I laughed. We started walking again and my rainbow hair was getting wetter by the second, some group of kids in our grade noticed I had rainbow hair and yelled from across the street "BEING GAY IS A DISEASE AND IT'S CONTAGIOUS STAY AWAY FROM THE EMO GAY BITCH." I flicked them off and kept walking, I could tell that pissed Julius off he yelled back "I'M THE GAY ONE DUMBASSES!" The group of kids stopped and looked at Julius "FAG!" they said crossing the street they walked up to Julius and pushed him into a wall "GET OFF HIM!" I said grabbing the kid by his shirt, he pushed me off and hit Julius in the face. I went to go hit him but his 3 off his friends held me back. The other 4 stepped into the fight and soon Julius had 5 guys punching him and kicking him I heard Julius crying and pleading for them to stop. Finally I had enough I elbowed one of them in the face and kneed the other one in the balls as hard as I could, the third one fought back he punched me once in the lip and in the eye I punched him so hard I broke a knuckle. I ran into the crowd of boys kicking and punching Julius I saw Julius on the ground bleeding and coughing up blood I yelled at them "STOP YOU STUPID PRICKS YOU PROVED YOUR POINT NOW STOP BEFORE I MAKE ALL OF YOU REGRET TOUCHING HIM." One of the boys snickered "What are you gonna do you're a girl."   He said kicking Julius in his ribs one more time. I walked up and punched him once in the stomach and 3 times in the face. He fell to the ground holding his face "WTF YOU CRAZY BITCH YOU HIT ME." I heard Julius giggle a little bit. Everyone of the kids looked at me and at there friend on the ground holding his face "Let's go this bitch is crazy." they left and I knelt down beside Julius looked at me and smiled, he winced in pain and then his face went to worry "A-A-lex your lip is bleeding and your eye is swollen and and your knuckle part of your bone is sticking out." I looked down at my knuckle, he wasn't kidding I winced in pain but smiled after "you don't look so great yourself." I said smiling "OMG NO IS MY HAIR MESSED UP?" he said faintly laughing I lifted up my good hand and ruffled up his hair "Yup." I said smiling at him. He gave me a playful glare and then coughed up blood and he was holding his ribs. He looked at me and was blue in the face he was choking on his own blood. I grabbed his arm and put it over my shoulder I ran as fast as I could I hopped in the nearest car it wasn't even mine and I didn't care I saw the keys were in it which meant it was unlocked. I jumped in and put Julius in the passenger seat and drove as fast as I could, I didn't even have my license but I drove to the ER almost hitting a few cars and people but it was okay because I saw the ER on the left. I parked the car and and I grabbed Julius and ran inside "DOCTOR SOMEONE HELP!" I yelled the doctors took one look at me and Julius and rushed over to me "Are you okay young lady, do you feel sore or anything, do you want pain meds?" I looked at them in a shocked face "WTF DO YOU NOT SEE MY FRIEND OVER HERE!?" I said looking at Julius "I'm sorry ma'am but women can't take as much pain as men and are helpless when it comes to pain." the doctor said releasing my arms and going over to help Julius, they put him on one of the bed rolling things and brought him into a room. While they did that a nurse walked up to me "Are you okay sweetheart? What that doctor said was sexist and not true." she looked me up and down "Clearly you can handle yourself, but how about we go in the back room and fix up your knuckle, and take a look at the rest." I nodded and followed the nurse to the back room and sat down on the bed. She gently picked up my hand and examined it "did you punch your friend?" she asked me writing something down on her clipboard. "No I was protecting my friend from a bunch of boys that jumped him. I punched one of them and that's what happened to my knuckle." she looked at me "What about your eye and lip?" she asked grabbing my chin and lifting my head up so she could see my lip and eye better. "One of the guy's fought back, and hit me a few times." I said, she sat down next to me and lay me down on the bed while she put me under anaesthetic. I woke up a few hours later, my hand was stitched up I asked the nurse what she did to my hand "we had to put a plate and 2 screws in your hand so your bone would go back in place, that plate will shift in your hand a lot so i'm gonna give you some pain meds to take every 2 pills every 2 hours, and if the pain is to much to handle before it's time to take your pain meds you can take one. They are gonna make you very sleepy so don't take them while driving. I also examined your eye and your lip, you might have a fat lip but that's it, I checked out your eye and there were no broken blood vessels or anything like that. Also if you look at your wrist you have a cast, see how hard you hit the kid caused your bone to crash into another one and shattered them which you have a plate and 3 screws in your wrist. Which i'll give you another prescription for. You will take 3 of those a day so all together everyday you should just be taking 5 pills per day no less unless I tell you it will be okay to stop taking them, i'm gonna ask you to take one of them right now before you head home, and then come back in 2 weeks so I can check up on you." she gave me my prescription I looked at her worryingly "where's Julius?" I asked her "He's just got out of surgery he broke 3 ribs, and his nose is broke. I'm so sorry." I felt my eyes stinging with tears I ran out of the room I was in and rushed down the hallway yelling "JULIUS!" I never got an answer except for the staff telling me to shut up. I kept running until I found the room Julius was in and I walked in he looked over at me and smilied "Hey Alex." he said smiling I felt a warm tear roll down my face, I wiped it away "Hey Julius." he looked at me with worry in his eyes. He moved over on the hospital bed and opened his arms I came over to his bed and layed down in between his two extended arms I cried silently as he rubbed my back "I'm ok Alex I promise." I rolled over so I could look at him "No you're not you have 3 broke ribs and a broken nose so don't tell me your ok because you're not and you know it so don't lie to me." I said getting up and sitting in a chair next to the bed and I put my head in my hands forgetting about my knuckle. I winced in pain as more tears rolled down my face Julius saw my cast and stitches "Alex are you ok?" he asked looking at my cast and stitches "Yes i'm fine, now that I know you're ok." I said giving him a fake smile he looked at me up and down with a disapproving face knowing I was lying before the nurse came in and told him it was time for me to go and I wasn't supposed to be in here in the first place and the fact that I was in there for that long in the first place could make her lose her job. I walked out of the room glancing over my shoulder to see Julius.
