(Aiden's POV)
Here I am, in my beautiful bedroom. It includes some great features, a dingy mattress, a torn pillow, and, of course, the best part, a shit bucket right in the corner. These are the perks of being a homeless eighteen year boy living in the streets of Manhattan.

I lived with my mom, dad, and younger brother. Soon after I turned eighteen they kicked me out of my luxurious life. They all agreed that the best way to grow up is by starting from the bottom just like they did.

I find it kind of funny that they'd do this to me, leaving me to die in this fucking city. I dreamed of living in the city that never sleeps, but now that I'm here and homeless, it's pure hell and all I want to do is fucking sleep. I've been living in this small shack for about two months now, slowly dieing from starvation. Never once have I been call or check on by my parents.

Do they even care that I'm out here, living in a shack in the middle of a huge city which definitely has gangs, rapists, and pedophiles? Or worst.

The loud nocking ran throughout the shack, forcing my attention to the cloth separating me from outside. "Hello? Is anybody in there?" A husky voiced man asked from the other side of my oh so perfect barrier.

"Who's there?" I shouted from my mattress.

"My name is Lincoln, and I'm coming from the building across the street... I walk by every day and notice that someone may be living here..." At that moment, I shut my mouth and didn't say anything.

The building across the street is a huge office building owned by the scariest man in manhattan, Charles Rose. He's known in the money industry, giving out loans and shit. He always gets his way too, so only desperate people should go to him.

"Hello? Is anybody there?" The man asked again, in a concerning way; only to receive absolute silence in return.

I slowly slipped out the window in the back of the shack and walked around the corner and towards the park. Its best to avoid confrontation right now. The man could have been a pedo for all I know.

The slightest glimmer caught my eye as I was walking by a showcase window, the most gorgeous pendant sat right on display. It has a red stone, which was covered with words in some foreign language. I noticed how the gold surrounding the stone made the colors vibrant and glimmer in the sunlight.

All I can do is wish I had it and let it go. I looked at my reflection in the glass window and saw a poor excuse of a human. "What have you come down to, Aiden?" I mumble to myself, as I felt the sadness held with in those few words.

My whole appearance is that of a homeless person. My hair is super unkept, my head is covered with brown curls on the top and my sides are shaved by a man that offered it to me for free.

my once black hoodie is now stained with dust and dirt from my bed, and of course my pants were ripped on some old nails from the shack

I'm not sure they'd even let me enter the shop without calling the police on me. This is so unfair, the best thing to do would be to walk away, so that's what I did.

The walk to the park was peaceful and quiet, this one place always makes me feel better. It makes me think of when every thing was easy, and given to me on a silver platter.

I sat on the park bench and looked out at the colors of the trees. Every tree was a shade of red, orange, and yellow. The bright green grass was covered with leaves and the sun burned shades of purple, orange, and red in the sky.

The fall is the best Time to come here. It's bright, colorful, almost as if it was in a movie. From where I sat I can smell the freshly baked pastries from the Cinnabon on the other side of the trees.  I've never noticed how beautiful this was until I was alone, and had nothing.

I used to look at the poor people on the streets all the time, never have the thought crossed me that I'd be joining them in there struggle. Nobody try's to help me, they just look at me in discussed and walk away. I don't smell the best, I don't look the best, and I don't look like anything that I'd use to look like before.
