With Him

Prologue

A man and a woman drove through town late at night, trying to get to the hospital where someone they knew well was having a baby. It was pitch black out as well as raining hard, and the roads were slick with water.

"Maybe we should turn back, Sabine," the man said nervously. "The weather's only growing more severe."

The woman, Sabine, shook her head, "I can't! Lilly's been my friend since we were both kids and she was there when Marinette was born. I need to be there, Tom."

Tom sighed. "Alright, at least we're almost there."

He looked away from the road for a second to check the navigation app on his phone to see when to turn, and a second was all it took. A car came, seemingly out of nowhere and spun into their side causing their car to flip through the air, landing with a sickening crash on the pavement. The driver of the other car had lost control due to all the water on the road. Once both cars had come to a stop the man jumped out of his car and ran to the car he had hit.

"Hello?" He asked as he looked inside, "are you alright?" Both the man and woman weren't responding. Blood trickled down from the woman's head , staining the water a deep red. The man quickly took out his phone and dialed 112.

"Hello? I have an emergency..."
