While Ragnar Lothbrok is on a raid in the West, he finds a twelve-year-old girl with a raven tattoo fighting for her life. Impressed by her strong will, he takes her back with him to Kattegat to raise her in his people's ways.
Not only does this girl prove herself, but she shows potential to become one of the greatest warriors among the Vikings. Fueled by the desire for revenge on her old enemies, the girl with the raven tattoo trains amongst people she was taught to hate and surprisingly grows to love them.
