Things don't always work out how you think they will. For instance, when you get kidnapped while out for a run, definitely not what I had expected to happen. But alas, here I am, in the back of a van with my hands tied behind my back and a blindfold preventing me from using my sense of sight. How did this happen? I'm glad you asked.
"Mom, I'm going out for a run, I'll be back in time for dinner." I called over my shoulder as I pulled my long dirty blonde hair into a pony tail. "Alright Hun, have fun." my mom called back as I shut the door behind me.
I started at a light jog down the trail through the woods. We live in the suburbs and our house is almost completely surrounded by forest which made for great hiking paths. My mother always worried that I will be kidnapped by some psycho out here, I never knew how right she was to be worried.
As I continued through the woods, I sped up until I was at a full sprint, jumping over fallen trees and dodging low hanging branches. This was one of my favorite things to do, this was also my only excuse to get out of the house.
I stopped to catch my breathe, having been running for a good while already. Then I heard a snap of a twig. I froze, listening intently for any other sounds, but heard nothing. I put it off as a squirrel or a rabbit, but stayed alert.
I started walking deeper into the forest, I had no fear of getting lost fore I knew these grounds like the back of my hand, better even.
Continuing on, I took a deep breathe of the fresh air, enjoying the peace and quiet of the outdoors. Until another snap sounded from a couple feet to my side. This time I couldn't write it off as an animal, it was louder than the last and no small animal could have snapped a branch like that.
Just then, there was a flash of brown between the trees. Something was there. My heart rate picked up as I scanned my surroundings for any sign of danger. Another snap of a branch and I look around again, this time for a suitable tree to clime.
I spot a young maple tree a few feet ahead of me and start into a dead sprint. Using the momentum from running, I jump up and push off the trunk of the tree with my foot, grabbing onto the branch above me and swinging myself up.
I hear a soft growl from somewhere in the trees and quickly climb further up the tree. As soon as my foot leaves the branch I had climbed up on, it breaks off and falls to the ground. Climbing higher up, I take a look around once again, looking for whatever was in the trees.
A man steps out from behind a tree. "Impressive moves you got there." I looked him up and down, assessing the possible danger. He had dirty blond hair, much like my own, and wore nothing but a pair of grey and red basketball shorts. No shirt, no shoes. His ocean blue eyes stare straight into mine. Damn he was hot, most likely a player though and not worth my time. "Thanks, so, uhm......where are your shoes? And shirt? I'm pretty sure normal people don't go hiking in the woods with no shoes." I try not to stare at his very defined abs as I wait for his response.
I suppose he had noticed my staring because he had said, "what? Cant handle this amount of sexy?" He's definitely a player judging by all that arrogance. I rolled my eyes and jumped down from my branch, landing on my feet as graceful as a cat. I smirked, walking toward him like a tiger stalking its prey.
I smiled with false sweetness, placing my hand on his arm. A growl sounded from my left, I ignored it. That was a mistake. "You know what I cant handle?" I purred, running my finger tips down his muscled bicep. "I cant handle this amount of stupid arrogance and creepy stalking." I said before I swung my right arm, my fist connecting solidly with his jaw. There was a loud crack and he fell to the ground holding his jaw and groaning. I smiled down at him, "That's for scaring the shit out of me and for all that damn inflated ego."
