Steve Rogers X Reader - Loving You

"Which you hid being Captain America from me at first, just said you were a soldier." You add making him shake his head.

"Yeah, not my smartest move. You saw through that no trouble at all."

"That's cause I'm very observant."

"That you are babe. I've never been this in love with someone before. You're the one I want to go to bed with at night, and the one I want to wake up to in the morning. I want to spend the rest of my life, good or bad, with you by my side. Will you marry me?" He asks and you practically leap into his arms as you say, "Of course I'll marry you." He smiles bright as he holds you tightly in his arms.

"Just one thing's missing." You say as you pull away from him causing him to cock an eyebrow at you. "I'm not complaining, but usually there is a ring; or at least that's what I've been told." He chuckles as he points to your hand and you look down to see the most beautiful diamond ring you had ever seen sitting on your ring finger. "When did you?" you ask as you bring your hand up to look at the ring.

"When I kissed you." He says and you click your tongue at him.

"Sneaky, how did you know I would say yes?"

"Because you love me." He adds slipping his hands into his pj pants.

"I do." You reply and then chuckle as you point to the ring and add, "I do, I like the sound of that."

"Hungry?" He asks and you nod. He reaches into his dresser and pulling out a t-shirt holds it out for you. "As much as I would love to see you walk around naked all morning, we do have day jobs."

"And you think me wearing your shirt is gonna stop us from having sex?" You ask taking the shirt from him.

"No, but it'll be nice to see you walk around in my shirt." He adds as he walks out of the room toward the kitchen. Rolling your eyes, you let the sheet fall to the floor and slip his shirt over your head.

"Okay does anyone know you were going to propose to me?" You ask as you walk hand in hand with Steve down the sidewalk headed toward Avengers tower.

"I asked Bucky for advice, other than that no one should know." Steve adds his hand gripping tightly to yours.

"So I'm walking into a room of your friends with a ring on my finger and no one knows, save for your best friend, oh yeah this isn't nerve wrecking at all." You say your heart racing as your anxiety takes over.

"It'll be okay (Name), you'll have me right there beside you." He says pausing momentarily to kiss your joined hands.

"So cheesy." You say making a chuckle escape his lips. He turns and you walk side by the side all the way to the tower, into the elevator, and up to the common room where everyone was already getting their party on. The moment they spot you they yell out greetings and you unconsciously raise you left hand and wave back.

"RING!" Sam yells out making you jump slightly in shock before they all converge in on the two of you. When they reach you Nat says, "Let's see it (Name)." You hold your hand out the ring in full view making everyone whoop and holler in congratulations.

"I see the old man finally decided to pop the question." Tony says eyeing the ring.

"That he did," You reply joking making him smirk.

"It's beautiful sweetheart." You hear Pepper add as she leans forward to wrap her arms around you. You hug her back a happy smile filling your lips.

"We should throw Steve and (Name) and Asgardian wedding!" Thor calls out and you instantly shake your head as you say, "Thank you for the offer Thor, but a small simple wedding with friends and family is enough."

"Oh come on, you don't expect to have it in some rinky dink old church do you?" Tony asks and you nod slightly.

"I want to get married in the church Steve went to as a child." You say causing them all to go silent and surprise to fill Steve's face.

"You do?" Steve asks and you nod happily.

"I don't have any family except my sister, so," You turn from Steve to his friends and say, "I was hoping you all would be my new family."

"Ahh she is just too precious." Sam says as he reaches out to wrap his arms around you hugging you tight.

"Welcome to our dysfunctional family (Name)," Clint says as he walks up and wraps his arms around you. You could feel the happy tears starting but before anything else could happen Steve steps up and says, "Okay guys that's enough, don't hog my fiancé."

"Aww don't tell us, you're jealous aren't you." Bucky calls out as he walks up and slides his arm over your shoulders pulling you slightly away from Steve.

"Buck," He replies making Bucky chuckle.

"It's okay if he's a little jealous." You say making them all nod. "Now my last boyfriend-"

"AHHH okay, that's enough of that." Steve interrupts making you laugh. You knew how to joke around with him and he knew it.

"It's okay honey, I never loved any of them the way I love you." You add as you slip out of Bucky's grasp and cross the short distance to look up into Steve's eyes lovingly.

"Okay now it's becoming uncomfortable." Sam says causing both you and Steve to laugh. "We got things to celebrate, so let's get this party started."

You watch lovingly as Steve is clapped on the back and congratulated by his friends. It was sad that your parents wouldn't be able to see you get married but that was alright. You had this new, rowdy group to call your family; and you couldn't be happier.
