50 hunter examinees departed the airship. They found themselves on a small forested island, on the beach. Standing there waiting was the second stage examiner, Q.

"Please, l-listen." Q said. "I'll go over the rules for the second stage.

"In the forest, there are 16 animals with special tags. You must hunt the animals to acquire a tag. Therefore, only 16 people will pass.

"Of course, the tags are not on little squirrels. They are on animals like bears and wolves. Wouldn't it be ironic if a tagged animal took your life?

"Not only will you be hunted by animals, but hunting other examinees is recommended. The less examinees there are, the better chance you have of getting a tag. Who knows, your target may have a tag in their pocket...

"When you've found a tag, you must return here to the airship. I will be waiting here. You have five days. Starting...." Q looked at his watch... "In twenty minutes. If I were you guys, I would go hide in the woods to avoid getting killed by someone here..."

At his suggestion, the fifty examinees began to approach the forest.

"DON'T WALK! HUSTLE, MAGGOTS!!" Royoko screamed, suddenly directly behind Scarecrow, causing Scarecrow to jump out of his shoes. The fifty examinees broke out in a sprint.

Ging, List, Wdwune, and Scarecrow stopped in a clearing.

"The exam must have begun by now." List stated.

"Wait... Where's Hikaru?" said Ging.

"You know how she is." Scarecrow said. "She must've run off somewhere. You boys are using Zetsu right now, right?"

"Oops, I forgot..." Ging said, turning on his Zetsu. He looked down.

"What is it?" Wdwune said. "Feelin' down 'cause your lady friend ain't here?"

Ging blushed. "'Lady friend'?! Where did that come from?! And no, I'm just disappointed about missing a seemingly powerful ally."

"I'm not so sure if we should call her an ally yet." Scarecrow said. "I know it's bad to use stereotypes, but you know how Transmuters are. They're usually devious double-agents."

"I believe we should focus on the exam right now." List spoke up. "For us four to pass, we need to hunt down an entire quarter of the tagged beasts."

"True." Scarecrow replied.

"Um..." Ging sniffed the air. "Does anyone else smell that?"

"Smell what?" Wdwune said. "What are you, a bloodhound?"

Ging dropped to his hands and knees and put his nose to the ground. After catching the scent, he climbed back to his feet took off into the trees.

"Wait up, Freecss!" Wdwune called. "Where are you goin'?!" The other three took after him.
