My Ex-Lover

Spencer's POV

I was running late. Aria had been expecting me to be back at her place in 5 minutes. I had just arrived to the grocery store. Ugh.

I ran around looking for a pregnancy test, hoping no one would see me.

Aria told me that she was "late" and needed me to run out grab her a test.

This was my first time being back in Rosewood, since I moved to New York.

But I still new the marketplace well.

I was just about to run out when I saw a sign for "Buy 1 get 2 free" for orange juice.

I turned around and headed towards the beverages isle.

I reached out my hand to open the freezer door, when I heard a familiar voice approach me from behind.

I turned around.

"Toby!!" I yelled wrapping my arms around him.

"Spencer!" He exclaimed realizing it was me.

I couldn't help but smile at his reaction.

"How are you?" He asks, touching my arm.

"Good, good. I actually just got back about 2 hours ago!" I said staring him in the eyes.

I saw him study me.

He then saw that I was holding a pregnancy test.

His face went blank. I saw that he was surprised.

I put my hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, it's not for me." I softly laugh.

"I got worried there for a second." He softly laughs too.

There's an awkward silence for at least 30 seconds.

I turn around and get the orange juice when he says, "Hey, we should grab coffee sometime together. Yeah?"

"Yeah," I say smiling back. "Sorry, I gotta run. Coffee tomorrow?" I ask slowly walking to the cash register.

"Of course." He says.

"I'll call you. Same number?"

"Same number." He smiles again. "I'll see ya Spence."

I smile once more and walk away.

What a nice surprise!

The rest of the day goes by quick. Since I'm staying at Aria's place, I have to watch out for her. Especially since she thinks she's pregnant.

"I have to pee. I'm gonna go and take the test." Aria says walking to the bathroom.

I can't help but sneak a laugh.

I wait for her.

As soon as I hear the toilet flush, I immediately stand up.

A couple seconds later, she returns.

"Ok, how long do we wait?" I ask.

"3 minutes."

I set a timer on my phone for 3 minutes and we wait.

"Spence, what if I am pregnant?" Aria worryingly asks.

"Isn't that a good thing? Ezra is talking about kids all the time.

"I know but, now that I am actually taking the test--"

"I ran into Toby today." I say quickly, interrupting her.

She stares at me as if she saw a ghost.

"Y-you did?"

"Yes."

Man it took me a while to realize this but, I still loved Toby Cavanaugh. If I was going to admit it or not.
