~Elena's POV~

"Can we start over? Can you love me like you used to?"

He looked at me and sighed.

"I never loved you."

Those four words had my whole world crashing down. I never loved you.

"But we've been together for 3 years, Aaron. I know things have been rough lately, but we can get through it like we always have." I begged him, tears starting to fall.

"Elena," He started, but fell short. He looked at me with eyes that I did not recognize any more. Those were not the same puppy brown eyes I fell in love with.

"Elena," He started again. "Look, I'm sorry, but it's over between us. There's nothing that you can say that's going to change that fact."

I shook my head, praying that what I was hearing wasn't true. We've been together for 3 whole years. There's no way that he didn't feel something for me. You can't just be with someone for 3 years and then say that you never even loved that person. Can you?

"Please," I begged him. "Don't leave me."

"I'm sorry." He said again as he grabbed his belongings and opened the front door to our apartment. I watched him with tear filled eyes as he walked down the front porch steps and down the driveway towards his car. He put his belongings in the truck and got in the front seat.

"I hate you!" I screamed at him, as he turned the key to the ignition and back out of the driveway and out of my life.

I slammed the door shut, kicking and screaming at everything in my way. I hated him. I hated him for taking so much of my time and love away from me. I wish he would just die.

Ding.

I stopped my tantrum as I heard my phone ring from the kitchen table. I wiped my eyes as I made my way toward my phone, hoping that it wasn't another text from my mother asking me to call her because I definitely wasn't in the mood. To my surprise, it was a text from my friend Matt.

Matt:

Hey girl, we're going out for drinks tonight. You in?

I thought about it for a few moments. Should I drink tonight? Was I in the mood for it after what just happened?

After that last thought, I made up my mind.

Me:

I'm in. Are we going soon?

Matt:

Girl, we're going now ;)

Me:

Great. I'm getting ready now.

I locked my phone as I headed up the stairs to my bedroom. As I entered my bedroom I passed my dresser mirror and stopped. Damn, I look like hell. My eyes were red and puffy. Make up was running down my face. Tear drops stained my shirt and my hair looked like a wild mess.

"You know what," I told myself in the mirror. "You deserve better. You are going to get better and this will all feel like old shit. Tonight, you party hard."

The music is blaring, the lights are flashing and all you can smell is alcohol. People are sweating and dancing to the beat and some are getting straight up wasted at the bar. This is the best place to be to get over a bad break up.
