"A soft sound, to the way she wears her hair down, covering up her face."

A frown etched my face in my sleep, simply hearing that familiar song, that familiar voice of his. And the fact that everything is way too familiar makes me frown and squirm in my sleep. Am I dreaming of listening to their music? Why?

"Oh what a let down, I don't seem to be having any effect now, falling all over the place."

It continued, myself doing my best to suppress a groan that's about to slip past my lips. No, make it stop.

"But you're losing your words, we're speaking in bodies, avoiding me and talking 'bout you."

I bite my lip and grit my teeth, in hopes of calming myself down. Even with their sound so calm, there's no way it can. Well, it used to but- I thought to myself, but immediately cut it off. No relieving sunken memories, Cassie.

"But you're losing your turn, I guess I'll never learn, 'cause I stay another hour or two."

As soon as the these lines started, I force my eyes to open, squinting to the brightness of the sun. Still in bed, I searched for the potential source of the music around Dylan's room, only finding Dylan's iPod deck open. Gotcha. Reluctantly, I pushed myself off the bed with a groan, holding my head due to the sudden movement, feeling a bit dizzy.

"For crying out loud, settle down! You know I can't be fou-"

And before it can even end, I've reached the drawers where the deck is on, shutting his iPod off. Silence ruled the whole room, which made me sigh in relief. But with the silence, it only made me think about these lyrics.

Was that the reason why I was left? Because they don't want to be found with me?

I huff at the thought, shaking my head to myself and rolling my eyes.

"You wish, you didn't settle down for me, I'd return the favor."

I found myself saying with my usual croaky morning voice, almost coming out as a whisper as I stared at the iPod.

"Nothing will settle down, even the memories, the friendship, or anything. No."

And that, I promise myself.
