"Hi Crystal, I'm Jake," he said and walked over to me.

He reached his hand out, and when I put mine out to shake it, he pulled my hand up and kissed the top of it.

These damn Monroe brothers and their charm..

I looked over at Ashton and we chuckled. He looked over at Ashton.

"Can I have food?" He asked.

"Didn't you just go out to eat with your friend?" Ashton asked.

"Yes but I'm hungry," he said and gave Ashton puppy-dog eyes.

Ashton sighed, "fine." He lifted Jake up and brought him over to the cabinet.

Jake picked out goldfish and Ashton got out a bowl, put some goldfish in it, and gave it to Jake.

...I think I melted.

Jake ran into the living room and crawled up onto the couch. We could see him from the kitchen.

"He's so cute," I said and smiled.

Ashton shrugged, "Yeah. He gets it from his older brother." He smiled.

I chuckled and looked at him skeptically. He laughed and grabbed two waters out of the fridge.

He handed one to me, and I thanked him.

When I looked in his eyes, I saw sincerity. I saw genuine happiness. I saw the lack of an emotional barrier.

And there is no way to describe how amazing that made me feel.

Jake came skipping into the kitchen.

"Can we get ice cream?" Jake asked.

"All you do is eat, don't you?" Ashton asked and Jake giggled.

Ashton looked over at me suggestively. I shrugged and nodded.

"Okay, fine." Jake's eyes lit up when Ashton said this.

This was such a completely new side to Ashton. And I loved it.

On our way to the car, Jake ran in front of us. He stopped right in front of the passenger seat door and waited for us.

"Jake, let Crystal have shotgun," Ashton said and Jake's face fell.

"No it's fine he can have it," I quickly said and Jake smiled at me. Ashton looked at me.

"You sure?" He asked. I nodded sincerely.

I hopped in the back, and couldn't stop the smile that was spreading across my face.

"I don't have any money on me," I said concerned.

"It's okay, I do," Jake said and held up a dollar. I held in a laugh.

"You don't need money," Ashton said. I felt bad.

"But-"
