An//-So first of all thank you for reading. Also this is an original story based of a few events in my life as a native indian in Texas. I just wanted to write of my feelings I suppose. Also do keep in mind it is BASED off of experiences. Names and other things will be altered. Please keep in mind that this story will be changed and exaggerated or vague. Please respect the differences of this story and its characters. The main protagonist is an OC that represents me. Most events that will be told are FICTIONAL. Some events will be true but I wanted to create a novel that can capture readers everywhere. Thank you for the support.

Winter mornings were crisp and it was well below 20 degrees fahrenheit. The Texas weather was sporadic and in the winter it was either humid or cold never in between. A fair near bastrop was full of life, the barbecue smoke filled the air. A day full of laughter and youth. Here walks a lone wolf, she strides with black high waisted jeans, combat boots and a blue black flannel. Its was not too cold for her taste, considering she had a cup of hot pomegranate tea. This lone wolf had her long black curly hair in a braid which reached her lower back. Her dark brown eyes scanned the area. There were a few native indian folk in the area browsing through the carnival. She was one of them, by blood pact, but they still took her under their wing. The natives were a mixed group of bloodlines or Mohicans, Cherokee, remnants of the navajo and such. A very trained in combat and hunting type of group, she may not have been the most active, much less be par with all the training. She stood at 5'7 and is 21 years of age, a caramel tan skin being kissed by the sun's warm light. Another person walked up behind her, "Hey!" a farmiliar voice called to her, turning around to see whom called her. A tall young man, Mordecai, light brown hair and his uforgettable hazel eyes, "Raven Nashoba!" he embraced the lone wolf known as Raven, healer in native terms.

"Mordecai how great to see you again" she smiled warmly at him looking around his feet, "The kiddos?" Raven asked. "With their mother, Anna and I came by to catch up with old buddies. I am so glad to see you. To be honest I was not expecting you to be here. Oh by the way congratulations I know I am half a year late but yea completed sector 2! Well what have you been up to." keeping casual talk Mordecai was beaming at Raven as if she was resurrected from the dead.
"Well nothing really so far, I have been doing volunteer work here and there in Austin, not much really. I have an internship with the marines they might want me to join, or I can join the navy as a combat medic but because of my colorblindness and intelligence they want me in a desk job." Raven sighed heavily, "Listen babe you will be fine!" Mordecai said enthusiastically. "Care to come with? I'm sure everyone would be happy to see the highest ranking winona." Being a first born meant great responsibility and honor. To be considered one is to be a leader, but one must earn it and work for it, if not the title is given to the next born. Raven was the last born, but the oldest living in the household so the title landed on her. Being a winona is being a chief's daughter or someone of high rank.
"I am not a winona by blood. I am not a first born to begin with." Raven still complied and walked with him. "Well family doesn't end with blood and besides it's not like we dont love you. We do, a lot and I grew up with you and I love you a lot." He smiled sweetly at her. "Look, you earned that rank and you went through hell to get it. You are of Abbadon." a giggle came from her, "Thank you" When one states their name they state the house or faction they came from. Raven was of Abbadon, a strong yet saddened name.

A shot rang out from the wooded area, "Sniper keep down! Take refuge in the buildings or structures! This is not a drill!" Mordecai yelled in to the walkie talkie, Raven was giving the signal to lay low and stay alert. The sound was similar that to a hawk it was loud and it caused the shots to stop for a few seconds. It was quiet fast, all personnel hiding or in structures to keep safe. No known casualties yet at least of what she saw. Mordecai ran behind her. "I am going to have to take him out." Raven's voice was stern. "You can't! W-what if there are more?" Her long time friend Mordecai was worried.
She began to speak.
