Chapter 1

Lyra's P.O.V

"Wakeee upppp Lyra!"

The annoying voice screaming in my ear wakes me up from my luxiorius sleep.

"Let me sleep Piper" I grunt angirly and push her away.

"Lyra , you only have half an hour left to get ready until the first day of your senior year at Charm academy starts , so get upp " She says pulling the soft blanket away from me using her long beak.

"But i'm so tierddd and I want to sleep so stop pestering me "I tell her yawning .

I'm about to retrieve the blanket from the ground when Piper says
something that has me running to my walk-in closet.

"Oh okay then , I'll just go pay a quick vist to your parents and tell them about this Lyra". Piper threatens excitedly and I hear her wings flapping towards my door.

"Noo pleasee..Piper you won't and ok I will get ready " I tell her gritting my teeth.

"Good girl and get ready quickly , I dont have all day" She sneers , obviously satisfied that am not refusing her anymore.

I hear her exit my room through my window and I sigh in relief.
Gosh that parrot gets on my nerves.I must have been pretty reckless in my past life to be gifted an bossy and irritating pet like her.
She wasnt just my pet , oh no far from it , she was destined to be with me eternally plus Piper was immortal so I could'nt even lay a finger on her.
Oh how I wish I could just pluck those precious wings of her.
I know you must think am evil but the things Piper has done to me provoke me to think like that.

Besides we both hate each other like Prince Caspian and Prince Lucian. Those two twins are every girls dream. They are the Gods of magic because they can perform any spell without any difficulty at all.
But ever since Caspian was announced to become the next king instead of Lucian , there has been some serious intense rivalry between those two twins.
The gossip in this magical kingdom ( known as Selas)
recently was all about Lucians disappearance.
Apparently Lucian had left Selas becuase he would rather die than watch his brother , Caspian , be crowned as King and ruler of Selas.
But he had left a note in which he promised to come back and destroy Selas and therefore , his brother.
This was some pretty dangerous news that had shaken up the local people.
Some people had even started packing and planning to escape to Melay , a neigbouring kingdom which is currently in war with Selas.
Ugh. Traitors .
But there was more to Lucians departure and I really dont believe that he would give up his royal life because of jealousy.

Anyway , thats not my headache to be dealing with right now. I have to get ready for my first day of my last year at Charm Academy.
" Yep am totally excited " I mutter sarcastically as I stare at the horrible uniform which consists of a red jacket cloak with white tights.

Something tells me that this year is going to be one hell of a ride and dont ask me what that thing is because I dont even know  myself .
