Louis was exhausted when he got home from work. There's something about working with kids that really tired him out, but he wouldn't change his job for the world.

Louis was a primary school teacher and loved spending his days surrounded by children, and he was desperate to have his own family one day. However things weren't that easy as he was married to a man meaning adoption was the only way forward, but the adoption period was a long process.

Louis had been married to his childhood best friend for 5 years. Liam was a children's paediatrician and like Louis absolutely loved his job.

Louis and Liam had met in year 5 when Liam moved to Doncaster and Louis was asked to show the new boy around. They had clicked instantly and had been best friends ever since.

When Louis came out as gay Liam was the only friend that stayed and helped him through all the bullying. When they were 16 Liam also came out as a gay and a year later best friends had turned into boyfriends.

Liam and Louis were now 30 years old happily married and both successful in their careers. They settled in Doncaster and Liam's parents moved back to Wolverhampton. All they wanted now was to get the call saying they had children they could adopt.

'Liam where are you?'

'In the kitchen baby.'

Louis entered the kitchen to see Liam staring intently at his laptop.

'What's so interesting babe?'

'Don't freak out or anything Lou but I have news.'

'What kind of news?'

'Actually you might want to sit down.'

'Li what's going on your scaring me.'

'Okay um you know how we desperately want to start a family.'

'Yeah.'

'Just read this.'

He passed Louis his laptop and Louis was in tears after just 5 seconds.

'Really is this real?'

'Yeah baby. Were going to be parents.'

Louis jumped into Liam's lap and hugged him tightly.

'I love you so much.'

'I love you more. I can't believe we're finally going to be parents. When can we meet them?'

'The first meeting is set for Saturday as neither of us work weekends but the orphanage is in London.'

'I don't care I'll happily travel that distance. We have the money to be able to pay for a hotel for the night.'

'Right then we are heading for London this weekend.'

'Li do you think they will like us?'

It's now Friday evening and Louis is panicking about if his potential new kids are going to like him.

'Lou baby what's not to like about you. Your kind, loving and exactly what a parent should be.'

'I just don't want them to say no.'

'Tomorrow will be great just wait and see.'

'I trust you Li I really do but I'm just worried.'

'Lou seriously your worrying about nothing. If they don't like us then we just wait for some other potential kids but I'm sure they will.'
