                                                                   Chapter 2

Exhilaration filled me, as I ran through the thick underbrush of the forest. Not knowing where I was going or how I was running this fast I was still somewhat determined to get somewhere, somewhere that I didn't know the location. I was running faster than normal, Ive always been able to run but this  kinda running was like running at lights speed. I felt the earth pounding hard beneath my feet as the trees whipped past in a blur with the rest of the forest disappearing behind me. I could hear my feet hitting the ground with each step. 12...34!!! I looked down at my feet and panicked when I noticed not two feet but four. That's when I realized the werent feet...they were paws. four giant white and black paws to be exact.

At that moment I felt a weird kind of weight at my rear. I toke a quick glance back, one White and black tail swished in the wind that my broad body was creating. I started to panicked more furiously. Was this just some stupid dream or something? Or was my mind playing tricks on me again? But whatever I now was, whether it be  a gigantic dog or wolf or some other psychedelic creature, I knew that this was completely unrealistic and most definitely fiction. I have to be dreaming. I peered up and noticed a tree that must have fallen during a storm but storm or not it had fallen right on the path that I was running. My paws were padding against the forest floor, my breathing became short little fast breaths every now and then and I felt like I was going to hyperventilate. I was wondering so many questions that I know I probably wouldn't get the answer to, any time soon. For starters what the hell was this animal that I suddenly turned into? Why didn't anyone tell me about it? How do I change back to my normal self? Was this temporary or permanent? Where was my family when I needed them the most?

I stopped thinking of questions to ask and held my head up. The tree was rapidly approaching and I had absolutely know idea how to work this...body. I kept staring at the tree thinking how I would stop running or how I would jump. It couldn't be too hard could it? Maybe it would be as easy to control this thing like I were human. The tree was now about thirty feet from me. I toke each prepared, padded step deciding to jump instead of stopping. I toke a deep breath from my wolf like snout and threw myself into the air. I lifted from the ground and soared over the tree easily. I felt so relieved as I landed on the other side still keeping my running pace,  but also half shocked at how quickly my jump went by.

I was relieved because of the obvious reason, I actually cleared the jump instead of landing flat on face. Also because I had learned quite quickly how to jump in this form, which was easier than I thought. I kept running at my own pace as a stared ahead. I suddenly heard bigger, pounding footsteps running beside me, knowing that they werent mine I turned my head slightly to my right. Running beside me was another wolf, bigger than me with blackish brown fur and dark orange eyes. His orange eyes were looking straight at me but he somehow found the path perfectly without even stumbling once. The wolf didn't show any sign of a threat, he actually looked familiar. I glanced in front of me for only about five seconds. Then I put my attention back to where the black wolf had been, running swiftly beside me but he was gone.

It almost seemed impossible that a huge 125 to 175 pound wolf could be gone out of sight in less than 10 seconds. It was almost like he had vanished into thin air. I looked around me, not finding the mysterious wolf anywhere. Where could he have gone too? I slowed down my pace to a walk as I searched the perimeter of the forest. I was about to give up searching and continue down the path when out of the corner of my eye I noticed a flash of black. I spun my body around to face a sudden human...no my dad. My dad was sitting on a rock at the edge of the forest, his salt and pepper hair was swaying in the slight breeze. He just looked at me as I looked at him, a wide grin spread across his face. I realized that I was stopped dead on the path a sense of confusion washing over me. Was my dad the mysterious black wolf that I had just seen?
