Wanderlust

(n.) A strong desire or urge to wander or travel and explore the world

I have this urge to write, to get my words out there, let the world see my thoughts and have them read my work. I want to reach people's hearts, move them, make them feel. Something, anything. Like the book I was reading. This novel All the Bright Places where the two main characters travel around their country finding the beauty in places that have nothing special or on the contrary, they have everything in special. Make the places theirs with the memories they make. They try to see the beauty in everything. And I thought of a place in London that made a difference to me. It was a bookstore and it had a cafeteria next to it. It was the same cafeteria Marx went to when he was alive. The great Karl Marx, who wrote Das Capital in the British Museum which is about a block away from this place of mine. This place was different. Good different. You couldn't access to the cafeteria area without going through the bookstore. You have to walk through the bookstore to enter it and I think that's amazing. Why? Because all the people that will be in there will be those who have bought a book and started reading right in that moment. It's a place for readers, maybe quote wars might happen like okay? Okay. Maybe okay will be our always or the thing I realize is that it's not what you take, it's what you leave this last one from the book I've mentioned before. Maybe the readers will exchange books and give each other their opinion, on the book itself and also on the quotes they have highlighted or the comments they have made in the sides. Maybe this place will create new bonds, new relationships, new memories. Good memories. Because, the quotes you highlight and the books you choose, say a lot more about you than your curriculum or your diary or your own words. Books tell stories just like our lives are like stories. There are good chapters and bad chapters, sad chapters and funny chapters, there is everything. And exchanging books, is like exchanging your lives because you let the other see the book of your life. So if I get to live in London (which is something I would really love) this will be my favourite place, along with Covent Garden because there is always a street musician there. If I get to live there I will visit this place every day if I can, I want to be a regular client and I want to enter and greet the man in charge of the bookstore and then greet the couple in the cafeteria. I want to go in and don't have to ask what I want because they already know, and I want to walk in and have them recommend me a book which they think I will like. And finally I want to be friends with the other regulars and talk about books and something other than books also. And I would love to talk about the tourists entering the place, discovering it for the first time and loving it and seeing their faces. Because that would be me the first time I discovered this place. And I want to travel the world and have a favourite place like this in each part of the world because, why not?

With this goal in mind, I was going to begin my journey. A journey that sets off in Barcelona where I live, and ends in London, in my favourite place in the world.
