Malik moved his hand from mine to turn my head to his. "Where you told me that you love me more than anything in your life," he sang. I blushed again turning my head away. He chuckled placing his hand on my thigh. I rested mine on top of his.
          "Camryn," he started.
          "Hmm?" I looked up.
"So my friend's birthday is tomorrow and I'm planning something. I was wondering if you wanted to tag along?" He asked.
"Whose birthday is tomorrow?" I asked.
"Yours dummy," he laughed. I rolled my eyes trying to pull my hand from his.
"No-no-nnn-no. Baby I'm sorry. Hold my hand please," he pouted. I rolled my eyes folding my arms. "Camryn," he said. I ignored him. "Childish," he muttered under his breath.
"I have one day left of being seventeen. If I wanna be childish, then I have every damn right to be," I replied. He rolled his eyes. "You mad bro?" I asked him. He ignored me. I turned my head to look out the window.
"You gone be mad when I leave you at the mall," he mumbled.
"I'll call somebody to come get me," I replied.
"I thought girls became more mature when they had a child but you proved me wrong," he shot off. I had no comment.
"Hmmmm," I replied. He looked at me. I stared out of the window.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that," he stated.
          "Okay," I said.
"I didn't mean it," he sighed.
          "I'm sure you didn't," I replied.
"I- I love you immature or not, and just because you're a little younger doesn't mean you're not as mature as me. So I'm sorry," he told me.
"I get it," I said still looking out of the window.
"No you don't," he sighed pulling his car over.
"What are you doing?" I asked him.
"We're not leaving until you accept my apology."
          "I already did."
          "Then say it," he replied.
"I accept your apology," I said.
"You don't mean it," he said.
"I do mean it," I stated.
          "You're still mad?" He asked.
           "No. Malik."
"Then give me a kiss," he pouted. I turned to him staring at his lips. I pressed my lips into his. Then pulled away.
"I told you I accept your apology," I smirked. He started the car and pulled back onto the road. We got to the mall and got out. I held Karma in her baby carrier.
"You want me to carry her?" He asked.
"No I got it," I smiled.
"Okay, but I'm carrying all bags," he told me.
"If you say so," I shrugged.
"We need to buy Karma some things," he said.
"Yeah." I clicked my tongue. We ended up buying her a couple of outfits and three new stuffed animals.
"What stores do you shop in?" He asked.
          "I don't really shop," I shrugged.
"Let's go to Forever 21," he told me.
"Sure," I shrugged. He led the way the into the store.
"You should get some dresses. You look amazing in them."
"Help me find some," I smiled. He grinned pulling me towards the sundress section.
"I like this one," he smiled pulling a purple and floral dress from the rack.
"Oh what a lovely dress," I heard a voice say. I looked up to see Ms. Grumpy, the rude lady from the cafe.
          "Jordyn?" Malik asked.
"Last time I saw you, you ran away from me. You were with Ms. Lena," she chuckled. "Oh it's the stupid waitress. What are you 16 with a baby? Malik you should be ashamed of yourself," she laughed.
            "Malik," I started.
"Let's go," he dropped the dress.

                        ~Malik~
"So that's your ex?" Camryn asked. I didn't reply. "She's rude. I would've never guess you dated her."
"Look don't downtalk her cause she loved me when nobody else did!" He snapped.
"If she's rude, then she's just rude Malik," she replied. I didn't reply. I just drove back to the inn.
She got out and grabbed Karma. I took the bags in. She placed Karma in her walker.
I handed her one of her stuffed animals. She smiled. I smiled too.
           "Camryn."
           "Yes?" She turned to me.
"I'm about to leave," I shrugged.
"Bye," she waved turning back to the stove.
"Can I get a kiss goodbye?" I smirked.
          "No. Go now," she replied.
"Is this about Jordan?" I asked.
"I care nothing about her. I just don't wanna kiss you," she replied.
"Is it because I didn't buy you anything?
"I don't need you to buy me anything. I have a job," she replied.
"So why don't you wanna kiss me?" I asked.
"I thought you were leaving," she said flowering chicken. I stared at her.
"I need an explanation first," I replied.
"You need to leave according to you," she replied. "I don't owe you an explanation anyway. I'm not obligated to kiss you."
         "But I have a feeling there's a reason," I continued.
"Will you just leave Malik? What's with the interrogation? You asked for a kiss and I said no. No means no. Now go," she waved me off. I walked up to her and she turned to me.
"Do you really not wanna kiss me?" I asked.
"No," she shook her head. I nodded.
"Okay," I said. I kissed her forehead and then walked over to Karma. "You wanna come with me gorgeous?" I picked her up. "Can I take Karma somewhere?"
"Where are you taking her?" She asked.
"To get ice cream. Maybe to the baby spa," I shrugged.
"How long do you plan on being gone?" She questioned.
"An hour or two," I replied.
         "Okay," she waved me off.
"Really? You spend almost every free minute you have with Karma. You really about to let me take her?" I asked.
"Leave before I change my mind Malik!" She snapped.
"Okay. Okay we're going." I secured Karma in her carseat and grabbed her bag. "I love you Camryn," I said standing at the door.
"Keep my baby safe Malik," she said. I nodded then left. What's it going to take for that girl to love me back?
"Karma why don't your mama love me?" I asked. She cooed staring up at me.
"Do you love me? Because I love you. I love you so much angel," I cooed. She smiled at me. I placed her in her car seat. Then I strapped her in and got in the front seat. I started driving and I slowed to a stop. My old house. There was a car here. I got out and grabbed Karma. She was looking around sucking on her fingers. I carried her up the stairs. I opened the door and I heard talking coming from the kitchen.
"Mama he came here. And I know it was y'all doing," Sheree said to my grandma.
"Is he coming back grandma?" Danny asked.
"I don't know. And nothing was planned. Malik always come here when he's in deep thought. If you were any kind of mother, you wouldn't have snapped at him. You would have begged for his damn forgiveness!" My grandma snapped. Karma jumped at the sudden boom of her voice. Her lip quivered.
"Grandma don't yell," Mariah rubbed her hand.
"Karma don't cry," I whispered and she burst out crying. Their heads whipped in our direction. I just bounced the baby up and down staring at them.
"What are you doing here?" Sheree jumped to her feet.
"This is my house," I replied calming Karma down. "When I first saw you, I already knew." She stopped crying and stared at me with glossy eyes. "There was something inside of you. Something I thought that I would never find. Angel of mine. She laid her head on my shoulder staring at me. "I look at you. Looking at me. Now I know why they say the best things are free." I smiled. She smiled also.
"Is that your daughter? Is that my grandchild?" Sheree asked.
"Even if she was my daughter, she wouldn't be your grandchild," I replied.
"Malik that's your mother," grandma said.
"No you're my mother. She left me a long time ago."
"I was going through a difficult time in my life. I sunk into depression. I couldn't handle you."
"Whatever Sheree. You could have at least supported me. You moved on to that mexican man as soon as grandma took me off your hands," I rolled my eyes.
           "I did not!" She exclaimed.
"Lower your voice before you scare my baby."
"He told me he would help me. He told me he would check me into a care center. You couldn't go there," she explained.
"So what about after you got out?" I asked.
"I started my life over. I figured you hated me, so I left you alone."
"I invited you to my graduations, promotions, and every damn thing else. How you figure I hate you?" I asked.
       "Malik I-
       "You lying. Point, blank, period."
"Malik," Danny pulled on my arm.
       "Yes Danny?" I asked.
"Why don't we see you? You're our brother right?" He asked.
"I'm a very busy man. But maybe. Next week we could do something together," I said. I have a soft spot for children. What can I say?
"Can I come too?" Mariah asked.
"Of course gorgeous. But only if Sheree allows it," I shrugged.
        "Mama can we?" Riah asked.
"When are you planning on taking them out?" She asked.
"Next Saturday," I replied. Karma begin fussing. "Are you hungry mama?" I cooed. She put her hand in her mouth.
"I guess. What time?" She asked.
"I'll tell my grandmother and she'll relay the information. As for now, get out of my house," I stated.
         "Your house?" Sheree asked.
"It's in my name. Lock up. I have to feed my baby." Then I left. I left her just like she left me. But I bet my departure didn't hurt a tenth of what hers did.
