"Why do you have my clothes?" Gon inquired as his feet carried him towards the ex-assassin who wished to be engulfed by the bed beneath him.

"I was just going to wash them." Killua said a little too quickly for his own liking. Soon realizing his mistake from his friend's facial expression.

Gon tilted his head as amber eyes slowly drifted over at his clothes that Killua still held. "But I just washed them this morning. I even told you that I was going to. Besides.." Gon started, letting his weight fall onto the bed so that he was on the edge of it. "You always make me wash the clothes." he stated in suspicion, staring intently into his friend's cerulean orbs.

Pale hands repeatedly clutched and loosened the fabrics he held in a anxious demeanor as his friend's piercing gaze seemingly started to bore a hole through him.

"I-I" Killua stuttered, lost on what to say next. He didn't have much of a back up plan to his misfortune.

Gon's facial expression fell as suspicion was replaced with a crestfallen one, compelling Killua to say the truth as his only option.

"I had your clothes because they make me feel...closer to you." Killua hesitantly answered, feeling heat rush up to his face mercilessly.

Never in Killua's life would he imagine that he will be saying this...and to Gon at that.

Suprised, the boy blinked a few times before he opened his mouth."To me?" Gon said as he pointed a sole finger onto his chest in question, still not understanding what his friend is trying to say.

"Because I-I like you." Killua managed to breathe out, ignoring that his heart was going a hundred miles per second.

Gon languidly kneaded the nape of his neck with his calloused hand as a sheepish smile formed across his face. A nervous laugh soon escaped his parted lips, still bemused by the other's words. "Huh? I like you too! We are great friends!" Gon chirped, oblivious to the boy's confession.

"No." Killua said as he shook his head steadily from side to side."Not in that way."

"Um...Best friends?" Gon restated, bumping his two index fingers together.

"No, not in that way either." he incorrected. This boy was going to kill him if he actually had to spell it out for him. "In a more... extreme way." Killua said, hoping that he'll understand this time round.

Gon's face lit up as though a light bulb in his head went off."Oh! So super ultra mega best friends!" Gon nodded excitedly, believing that he had figured it out now whilst he fist pumped the air in what he thought to be a eureka moment.

-You can't be serious.-

"Not that either. I want us to be a... thing." Killua said as he slowly started to advance towards Gon, placing one hand onto the bed to enable himself to lean his body forward.

"A thing?" The boy repeated, letting his hand slowly fall back onto his lap.

"Together." Killua rephrased, now only halfway from where Gon was seated.

"Together? but we are almost always together." Gon said puzzled.

"But closer..." Killua whispered, merely inches away from Gon's face, being able to view the dark flecks that dispersed across his cheeks.

"...Closer?" Gon echoed in a soft voice as he emulated Killua's volume of tone from instinct.

Their lips almost came in contact until a maddening sound resonated throughout the house as the doorbell rang continuously in need of the owners inside.

"Oh! I'll see who it is!" Gon spoke whilst he suddenly arose, running towards the entrance and making Killua face plant onto the bed as he lost his balance.

"Why!?" He voiced as he groaned into the bed sheets. His fist struck onto the cloths several times in injustice. Whomever it is outside he'll be sure to give them hell.
