"Have I mentioned before that my parents hardly look in my direction? I got curious, my dad always has beers in the refrigerator."

Jimin quickly waves his finger in front of Jungkook. "No excuses. Don't drink, baby."

"I don't." Jungkook smiles and grabs Jimin's finger, holding it hostage in his grip. "Don't wag your little finger at me."

"Can you guys shut up?" A voice calls from the floor. A grumpy expression appears beside the two on the bed from the gathering of sleeping bodies. "What happened?" Yoongi mutters now, scratching at the back of his head.

Jimin sits up in the bed and laughs softly. "Nothing happened. You guys all fell asleep."

"Why aren't you sleeping?" Yoongi frowns.

"I'm waiting. We're talking, and we took a little nap earlier."

"Good for you. Let me sleep then."

Jimin rolls his eyes. "Yeah, sure. We'll be quiet." He lays back down next to Jungkook and giggles. "I bet you didn't realize you'd be hosting a slumber party tonight."

Jungkook scoffs. "It's nice though. It's fun."

"It's fun? They're just sleeping now."

A smile comes to Jungkook's lips. "Yeah, but they're here and it's just nice. I like them."

"Jimin, did you tell Jungkook I said he's the coolest?" Yoongi's voice suddenly carries up from the floor again.

Jimin laughs a little louder this time. He leans into Jungkook. "He likes you a lot, that's what he means."

The mood is settling down again, the small chatter of the room dwindling as even Jungkook grows tired. He's fighting to keep his eyes open, but it's a losing battle. Eventually his eyes close and Jimin's gentle caresses on his chest lull him to sleep.

Jimin takes in the silence around him, only muffled snores breaking it every now and again. He's surrounded by the most important people in his life and he wishes that he could fall asleep with them, but instead he slides himself away from Jungkook's side. He gets up from the bed and stares back down at the man still slumbering in it. That's where his courage comes from, the one he loves the most. Jungkook is handsome even in his sleep.

He's impatient to know what really is happening downstairs. He hasn't heard anything louder than faint mumbles for a while.

Jimin turns the lock on the bedroom door and it clicks louder than he means for it to. He peers behind him, only pulling open the door when he feels like everything is fine again. This is the only way he can make sure he gets his way. That he gets to protect Jungkook and his mother on his own. The house is still, but as he creeps along the banister on his way to the staircase leading to the first level of the home, the faint mumbling drifts up to his ears, growing louder each step that he takes.

"I have never done you wrong." A mans voice, deep set and wavering gets louder as Jimin approaches. He stays silent and out of sight, but he can hear Jungkook's parents in the room at the bottom of the stairs.

"It's not only about me anymore. It's about our children. You've wronged them. One of your sons left because of you. You're hurting the other." Her voice is emotionless and cold and it sounds strange to Jimin's ears. She's always sounded so soft and caring whenever he's heard her. "Lets stop going around in circles. I want to divorce." She continues.

"I won't let you. You're my wife, you agreed to this marriage and in this marriage you will stay." His tone changes slightly, from almost groveling to a bitter one of irritation. "You'll listen to me."

"Not this time. I can't lose him because of you. Not Jungkook."

"You don't remember, darling. You can't blame everything on me, you did your part in hurting him too. You made him leave."

"I was foolishly following you. I loved you."

"You don't love me now?"

"No."

"That's not the truth." His voice hitches as if she's struck a nerve. There's shuffling from the room and Jimin closes his eyes and listens closer. "You love me, you're just selfish as always."

"The selfish one here is you. I don't need you to control me or my son anymore. I want you out."

"So you'll take my house and my son and I'll go where?"

"To the bar, where you live most of the time anyway."

"Now it's about my drinking again, huh?" He laughs, but it's mechanical, a laugh that shakes Jimin at his core. Jimin swallows the lump in his throat.

"Don't stand up."

"Don't tell me what to do. You're trying to leave me and you still want to tell me what to do?"

"I'm not trying to leave you. I am leaving you." Her voice shakes then and Jimin opens his eyes, looking towards the closed door a few feet away from him. He shuffles quietly to the doorknob and gently tests it to find it unlocked. It creaks slightly when he pushes it open to peek inside the room. Jungkook's mother is against the wall, but her eyes are up and focused. Jimin can see how much she's working to appear unphased by the man hovering close to her, stumbling as he stands.

"I think you're just mistaken. You really think I'll just let you go? You think it's easy, it happens like this?" His hand comes to her face and his fingers wrap themselves in her hair. He pulls her close and his words are ice cold. "You'll stay where I tell you to stay, right?"

She winces as he tugs on the strands of her hair and only this is enough of a cue for Jimin to interfere. He swings open the heavy door and his heart is racing as they both turn to look at him. "Don't touch her."
