I've started widening my horizons,
Started looking at other people.
Considering my childhood friend that my mother joked about sending my on blind dates with,
Which I never went to,
Because of you.
Smiling at that guy with disheveled hair who smiles at me in hallways at school in a way that was bright and zealous,
Which I never did,
Because it made you jealous.
Writing to that guy in another country.
Getting to know him over shared tastes and travel plans.
Plans that I could never make with you,
Plans you would never be around for.
I figured if you never respected me enough
why the should I?
