run
run until your legs are numb
run until you cannot feel your lungs
run until you do not see that strange man asking you to give you a ride home
run until your knees are bleeding
run because that's all you're used to
we run away from everything that scares us
we run because what else is there to do?
when my heart was broken what did I do?
stay and watch the boy I fell in love with shove his tongue down some girl he met a week ago's throat?
of course not.
because we were not taught to stay and watch.
we were taught to run.
