Chapter 6: Taking responsibilities

Friday, April 12 2013, 7:00 a.m.

On a morning my mum will drop me off at The Woodlands, my new school, and pick me up after, most nights. I hope I am allowed friends over often, to keep me occupied, when she (my mum) is getting ready to go out either shopping or clubbing with friends.

She normally gets lonely when she is out shopping, which is sad considering she doesn't have dad with her. Anyway, I will always phone her to make sure she is okay.

I know I'm only eleven now, but my mum trusts me to be alone, I have to be okay anyway, I'm becoming what my mum calls me. 'A big girl' and that 'I need to learn to take care of myself'.

You may think it's crazy but me I don't, I think I need to be taking responsibilities. I'm in secondary school now you know, not primary anymore.

Now-a-days people go out, just round friends so I've heard, also I've heard that people go out to the teen clubs, they're not far from me. About two or three blocks down. They're in a crowded area; so many people can see what's going on, just in case if something goes wrong, and nothing has, so far...

I want to go to these clubs soon, I hope my mum will let me, she has said I need to start taking responsibilities.
