Every child in Gruo knew about the Temple outside of town. Compared to Gruo, the Temple is populated with people who were born to continue a strict family tradition. A tradition that constructed a tight bond between realms, and balance separating man and the Afters.
The Afters are a concentration of negative destructive energy that escape from the Underworld. Before the Temple tradition was created, the Afters kidnapped and killed infant children in attempt to corrupt their pure souls.
Much to the members of the Temple's dismay, there was a rare incident where an After would not kidnap the offspring, but swallow them whole. According to the written recordings of the first leader, Alfrete Y. Domitri Greed, it was a battle unlike no other. It cost him his members, wife and children; however, once he was at his last breath, a stranger from the town of Gruo confronted the After.
Some say the stranger was the new founder of the Temple. Some say the stranger was there to assist the After, but no one truly knows what took place. After all, it happened two hundred years ago.
