Chapter 14 - Port Royal I

You shot a fireball at one of them, asking Axel, "Does that mean he's controlling the Heartless?"

"Not necessarily," he said, taking out four of them as his chakram swung around in a circle. "Could just be he is evil and they're following him."

You summoned lightning and took the rest of them out. "Then we better go, they're getting away!" You led the charge, seeing the man and Elizabeth heading towards the port. You and Axel ran around the parallel dock, just as the man carried Elizabeth on board. You saw the sail of a nearby ship, rope hanging down in the perfect place for you to grab. "We have to get on board!"

"You're crazy, woman!" Axel said.

"Just grab on and let's go!" you said, not taking your eyes off of the deck where the man just threw Elizabeth down to her knees.

Axel sighed. "I guess this is one way of getting on a boat," he said, wrapping his arm around you and the other on the rope.

You noticed he was considerably warm, probably from his fire element. He held on to you firmly before you both tumbled onto the deck of the ship.

The passengers stopped and stared, stunned into silence.

"And who are ye?" a man with a beard and a large black hat growled.

"[Name], Axel you two shouldn't be here!" Elizabeth yelled.

"Aye, she's right. You two shouldn't." The man gave you a sinister grin before the moonlight broke through the clouds. Him and the rest of his crew laughed as their skin dissolved away, showing nothing but grimy bones and shining eyeballs perched precariously in their skulls. "But that's a little late now, isn't it?"

Your eyes went wide.

"Wh-what is that?!" Elizabeth yelped as the clouds covered the moonlight and the crew returned to normal.

"A pirate curse," the man said. "I only need this one; the other two are intruders. Throw them in the brig with the other prisoner!"

"Yes Captain!"

You felt hands on you as they tied your and Axel's hands behind your backs. You struggled before catching Axel's meaningful look, then relaxed and trusting he had a plan. You and Axel were roughly thrown to the ground below the deck, some moonlight barely creeping through.

"So...now what?" you asked.

You saw a brief flash of fire as Axel burned off his ropes, then went behind you to untie your hands. "Well," he said. "Since you got us into this mess I would say we should rescue Elizabeth first, and then figure out how to get off this ship."

"So these guys are also pirates?" you asked, rubbing your wrists.

"Looks like it. This place is crawling with them."

You sighed. "So what do we do now, then?"

"How about we start by getting out of here, Axel?"

Axel's eyes shot to the shadowy corner of the tiny room.

You paused. Wait... That voice...

A figure stepped out clad in black with spiky hair and blue eyes.

You could hear the excitement and slight disbelief in Axel's voice. "Roxas!?"
