- As soon a she finds out all she wants is to get down to Earth. Being a mini revolutionist and from the lower class society of the Ark, many of her friends were in lockup and sent to Earth and she wants desperately to join them. She does extensive research and poking around and eventually finds out there's another drop-ship just waiting to go down to Earth.
- Knowing stealing an entire escape pod is a task she can't accomplish alone, she informs her mother, and encourages her to commandeer it. With the help of her other friend and mother they decide to use the pod to bring the lower class to the ground behind the backs of the council.
- During the Unity Day celebration Esme hides out in the pod, and is on it when it drops down to Earth. Her best friend backs out last minute, deciding to stay with his parents who refused to abandon their people on the Ark. Esme is the sole survivor of the exodus ship crash.
- The rest of the story is pretty much up to you. She has to deal with the guilt of the pod crashing since it was her idea, and the loss of many of 'her people' and her mother. She also has to survive Earth, which you probably know is pretty tricky...

EXTRA INFO:
- i chose Elle Fanning as the OC because for one she's young and Esme is supposed to be 16/17ish years old. also i think she looks similar enough to Kate Vernon (who plays Diana Sydney) that they could pass as mother and daughter. & Elle has been in a TON of movies ever since she was a little kid so there's LOTS of gifs, plus there's gifs of her as a tiny child so that could be cute for flashback scenes!
- as far as love interests go, i don't think she necessarily needs one because her story is complex even without one. BUT i will suggest Monty just because he's underrated and it would be interesting to see their relationship unfold when he's dealing with the deaths he helped cause in MT Weather and she is still dealing with the exodus pod crash...ORRR you could make her OC best friend from the Ark someone she has a relationship with later on bc that could be super cute. ALSO SHE IS YOUNG so choose a character who fits her age range.

Esme flinched when her bedroom door squeaked open, and instantly she slammed the journal that she had been scrawling in shut.
"Relax Ez, it's just me," her friend Ayden Marcs said in a hushed tone, "did you find anything yet?"
The little rebel's eyes sparkled, and without saying a word to him, he could tell she had found something. Something big. Beside her, sinking into her bed sheets, was a heavy book. As he came closer he could see that it was open to a diagram of a drop-ship. The boy took a seat beside Esme, then pulled the book onto his lap, running his fingers over the glossy pages.
"Look Ayden," Esme whispered, opening her journal back to the page she had been writing in, "this could be our key. This is our ticket to Earth."
"What? What is it?"
"It's a 130 year old escape pod salvaged from Mir-3," she rambled on excitedly, "they've been keeping it in Mecha Station all these years. Ayden, we could take it some how, if we can get enough people...we could spread the word and start a revolt."
"Esme. Last time you tried to start a revolt Zoe was taken away from us. Do you want that to happen again?" Ayden was always the level headed one, and as much s Esme hated it, she knew he was her anchor and that she needed him. She exhaled dramatically.
"But, don't you think...you know...people need something to believe about?" her voice was trailing off as she searched desperately for the right words. "This could really work Ayden. We just need to show them hope."
The boy sighed, his eyes glued to the picture of the pod in front of him. "Okay. What do we do?" -
