2 Months Later
Mariah
I carried my boxes and my bag towards my dorm being 5'4 and carrying three boxes and big traveling bag by yourself is not easy at all. I sighed. I tripped over my own feet and dropped two boxes.
"Aw shit" I exclaimed
"Need some help." A deep voice said says coming up behind me.
"You know what, don't even answer that I got it."
I watched him pick it up.
"You want me to get the other box" He asked still holding on to the boxes that was dropped. "No I got it. Thank you for helping me." I tell him. "No problem." He says
I led the way to my dorm. I dropped the boxes in front of the door and pulled out my key.
"You can put the boxes down, I can manage from here."
He nods and puts the boxes on top of the one I had.
"So what's your name?" he asked.
"Mariah" I answered.
"I'm Marlin. You're a freshman." He asked
"Yeah" I said
"Oh coo! Well tonight the schools sponsoring a little meet and greet for all the students you coming?" He asked
"I don't know about that." I say
"Come on." He pauses. "Look I know you don't know me and I don't know you, but we can get together and you can meet a few other people cause I know you ain't from Ohio!"
I chuckle "How do you know?"
"I can just tell. Where you from?" He asked
"Atlanta" I reply
"Oh really!" Marlin says
"So,why'd you decide to come to college all the way down here?" He asked
I shrugged "I've always wanted to experience new places."
"And out of all the other states, you come to Ohio."He says
"People says it's wonderful here." I say
"Yeah because they weren't born and raised here." He says "Don't get me wrong, I love my state, but once I get my chance then I'm gone."
I nod "That's the same way I felt about Atlanta"
There was short of an awkward silence between us
"My dorm is across campus building 6 door G." He said
"Then what are you doing over here?" I asked
"Had to go get my schedule." He replied
"Oh ok!" I say
"I have to go I'll see you around 7ish" He says
"We'll see" I reply
He smiles and walks
I opened the door and pushed my three boxes into the dorm and was greeted by two girls!
"Hi I'm Mariah!" I said as I introduced myself
"We figured that since your the last one to arrive plus we talked on twitter." one of the girls says with a laugh.
I giggled "Well, yeah. You're Amiyah, right?"
"Yeah." She answers
"Here let me help you with these." My other roommate Tiara says
"Thank you!" We placed my things on the side of my room.
"are you guys going to the meet and greet tonight?" I asked
"Yes!" They replied
Amiyah sighs! Her phone kept chiming. "Omg" she said
"What's the matter?" Tiara asked.
"Your favorite brother that's what." She said
Tiara laughed "what he do?" She asked
"He bitching because he haven't seen me yet!" "Don't do him! Let's go see him what room he in?" Tiara asked
Amiyah texted and asked. Her phone chimed again.
"His building across campus building 6 door G" She said
I looked up! Thinking to myself. That's Marlin room also. Hm? Interesting.
" Ok let's go! Mariah you wanna tag along.?" She asked
"Nah I think imma stay and unpack." I replied
"Uhun we all going together come on Mariah we not leaving you alone by yourself so cmon on!"
I laughed "fine okay."
