Prince Charming's Stag: Cinderella 1950
Deleted Disney Character
Now before I start, I know this character isn't really a "character" but he's been in my mind lately and I thought that he should be noticed.
The stag from Cinderella 1950 and Cinderella 2015 and how he reflects Prince Charming's character and personality.
In earlier drafts of the screenplay, the Prince originally played a larger role and had more character development than what he ultimately received in the final version of the film (the third film would rectify this). In one abandoned opening, the Prince was shown hunting a stag, but at the end of the sequence, it was to be revealed that the Prince and the stag were actually friends playing a game.
If Disney kept this idea, we would have seen more character in Prince Charming because in the film, I'm sorry, is a bit lacking character as he just sits there to look pretty.
His character and personality is like beating a dead horse!
Sparky: ....
Oops. No offense. I mean really, the ONLY Prince at around the time when Walt was alive with more personality was Prince Philip.
