The Beginning

"Watch out!" I turn around and I stopped breathing when I saw a black object flying fast towards my face. I try to dodge the object and save myself from humiliation but as expected, I failed. The object hit my face so hard that I started seeing stars.

"I told you to watch out and when someone yells at you to watch out it means you dodge the object that's about to hit you. I don't like slow and dumb ones, kid. I didn't raise your mother like that" My crazy Grandmother said. She stood up from her old comfortable sofa and snatched her black purse.

"Why would you even throw your purse at me?" I said trying to not hit her using the purse she just threw at me. Don't get me wrong, I love my Grandmother but sometimes she can be a pain in the ass.

"I wanted to check if you have the reflex of a Carter" She shrugs like throwing someone a purse is a normal thing.

"Your mother failed to raise you like a Carter. But I don't blame her, she's a Smith. She just married a Carter"

Okay, scratch that, she's always a pain in the ass.

"How is dodging a flying purse going to prove anything?" I said while balling my fists.

She rolls her eyes and pushes me aside and goes inside her large kitchen. "Stop whining like a baby, it's just a purse" She grabs her car keys from the dining table and started walking towards the front door.

"Where are you going?" I said crossing my arms and looking at her with narrowed eyes. "I'm going to the grocery to buy tampons" I look at her like she was the craziest person in the world. Actually, she is the craziest person in the world. "Tampons?" I asked waiting for her to say 'Aha! Joking!' but instead she just glared at me and wore her brand new shades on.

"Are you deaf or something?" Okay, it's official. She needs to be in a mental hospital.

"Grandma, you're already sixty five. You don't need tampons" She gives me her best glare that made me want to hide under a rock. "Instead of disrespecting me like a little bitch, why don't you just go with me and be a good granddaughter that you're not?" I just sigh and grabbed my jacket that was on the coach.

"Fine"

...

"You go get the tampons, I'll go get milk" I was about to tell her for the nth time today that she doesn't need tampons. She started walking away to go to the milk section. I breath out a loud sigh and decided to just go and get my Grandmother's tampons then get the hell out of this place.

I was walking around the large grocery like a lost child but after ten minutes, I finally gave up and decided to ask a worker who was busy stocking canned goods.

"Excuse me? Do you know where the tampons are?" I asked quietly feeling my cheeks turn red because of embarrassment. She looks at me with a warm smile. "Oh it's in section number fifteen, would you like me to walk you there?" I shake my head and gave her a grateful smile. "No need but thank you for your help" I walk towards Section number fifteen and found different kinds of tampons.
