No. He thought to himself. She's Dani. She'll never be too far gone.

"You four really know how to go after a girl who is not in the least bit interested," she said as she took her foot off of Donnie's chest. She glanced down at him, "Now don't be stupid, I just want to talk to your brothers." She took the staff away from his throat and fully turned towards the remaining three.

Raphael wanted to step towards her, to just snap her out of whatever was going on. Leo stopped him though by stepping forwards first.

"Dani, this isn't you," he said calmly. "Please, just come back with us so we-"

"Oh would you just shut up," she said in annoyance. "Sorry to tell you this boys, but whoever I was? That's gone. So save your breath. Or is this what you do when you're scared? Beg for 'Dani' to come back?" She laughed coldly. "That's pretty pathetic if you ask me. How you four have been able to take down Shredder, I'll never know."

Raph moved forward and shook his head. "I'm sick of the talking. This is getting ridiculous," he spun his knives and stared down Dani. It was the last thing he wanted to do, to fight her for the third time within a day, but he was sick of whatever was going on.

"I'm getting sick of talking too," she said as she examined her nails, "and that's why I called them."

Suddenly Foot Clan soldiers began surrounding the brothers and Dani. How had she signaled to them? Raphael backed against his brothers, Donnie quickly joining them. Dani smirked as a soldier moved to her side. She nodded at him and he pulled out his katana, signaling to the rest of the men to do the same.

"Sorry boys, but I've got to run. We'll run into each other again at some point, just don't miss me too much."

She turned her back towards Raphael and his brothers and he felt the muscles in his neck tense. It was getting hard for him to control the anger raging in every nerve of his body. He was ready to attack a nearby Foot Soldier, ready to take them down one by one to get to Dani, but he froze at the exact moment she did. Her foot hit the ground when Raph saw every muscle in her body seize up. She went still at first, then slowly she began to spasm uncontrollably. It seemed that no one knew how to react in that moment. Raph and his brothers froze, so did many of the Foot Soldiers, but they kept their focus on the four. The soldier that was at Dani's side was the first to move. He reached into a pouch on his belt and with a slight twitch of his wrist he threw a few pellets to the ground that exploded into clouds of smoke. Raphael ran forward, attempting to break through the smoke and get to Dani, but as he stumbled through the cloud he ran into nothing. The soldiers were gone, Dani with them.

"Raph!" Someone grabbed Raph's arm as they screamed his name. He was pulled backwards, away from the edge of the roof. Raph coughed as the smoke began to dissipate and he saw his brothers all hunched over. He stood up, scanning the surrounding area for any sign of Dani.

"Raphael," Leonardo said between heavy breaths. "She's gone. We need to head back to the lair, we'll start looking for her again tomorrow."

"No," Raph said back. "We need to find her now. Every moment she is with the Foot, the closer she is to being completely lost to us. We can't give up when-"

"We are not giving up Raph!" Leo yelled. "We are not giving up, but there is no way we can get any significant work done when we're exhausted. We need to rest."

Raph started to respond, but held his tongue. He wasn't going to outwardly admit it, but Leo was right. Even if it went against every instinct he had to just go and find Dani, he knew he wouldn't get far without resting. "Let's go," was all he said as he walked towards his brothers.

*Dani*

My eyes fluttered open as the sound of machinery beeping filled my ears. A rush of air filled my lungs and a pair of hands grabbed my shoulders as I shot up. My eyes focused as I glanced around the room and looked up at Xavier. I relaxed slightly and fell back against the pillow. The smell of mildew caused my stomach to lurch. I leaned over the side of the bed and threw up into a conveniently placed bucket. Once I had gotten rid of the contents in my stomach I slowly leaned back and groaned.

"What the hell happened?" I asked with a raspy voice.

"That's what we've been trying to figure out," Xavier said as he crossed his arms. "No one is really sure, you just seized up on the rooftop and we had to get out of there." He paused and stared at my face, as if he was living through whatever happened again.

I rolled my eyes, "I'm fine now so stop looking at me like I'm going to break."

"I'm not-" He started then stopped himself. He was ready to add on, but a doctor or scientist or whoever they were walked to the foot of my bed.

He was a middle aged, African American man, his glasses like a box encompassing his face. "Good to see you're awake. Gave us all a scare!" He laughed and, upon seeing I wasn't in the mood, then cleared his throat. "Anyways, we were all a little worried about you. No one was really sure if-"

"Cut the crap, who the hell are you?" I asked, cutting him off. .

"Ah, straight to business I see." He chuckled nervously. "The name's Baxter Stockman, newly hired and I'm here to help you and your mutations."
